Send your main sample (loop or resample the chopped loop) thru a LPF and rollout everything (200 and above) and then boost your resonance for desired tone.
If playing the bassline on the keyboard...find the vst sound you like (you can eq to make it a sound you love). Figure out and play the melody (mimic the samples melody...not the bassline in the sample if you don't want that) record and then transpose the VSTi to the 4th or 5th (+5 or +7...-7 or -5). Delete unwanted notes and boom, you got a decent original bassline.
