I can't seem to be able to send MIDI out to my TR-707 from the MPC. I've used the 707 for years with Ableton, but for some reason it isn't working with the MPC.

I'm running JJOS2XL, and I've followed all the instructions for sequencing MIDI. My other synths send and receive MIDI just fine with the MPC, so I know *that* part is working.

The 707 is set to Slave, just like in my Ableton setup.

I just purchased the MPC a few weeks ago, so it's all really new to me still. I'm thinking there is some setting I'm missing, like setting the MPC to send to MIDI channel 10 or something? Can it do that?

Thanks in advance.

Nevermind, folks... figured it out.

I needed to set the TR-707 to OMNI mode. For those with similar issues, here's how:

Make sure the TR-707 is on, but nothing is playing.
Hold down SHIFT and press MIDI CH
*Continue* holding down SHIFT and press ENTER.
A horizontal line should display over the "n" in the LCD display, indicating the 707 is now in OMNI mode.

Ensure your MIDI cables are connected and the correct MIDI channel is selected in the MPC1000.

Voila!
