Sampling from Youtube or other source?

Ok, Searched the forum, didn't find the answer that I was looking for, NO I do not wan't to go through any hassle of downloading from youtube or whatever.
I was very used to when I was working with the MPC1000 and was able through my mbox to sample directly when ever I was listening to what ever or where ever it came from, it was very comfortable working that way, just listen, record and chop, no hassle at all, but now when I got the mpc studio I wan't to be able to do the same, is there any easy way of doing this? Any kind of app? I am using Mac and the MPC Studio

And you may as well install a YouTube downloader in Mozilla or whatever. They're free, most record at higher bit rates provided the video's audio is available at the higher rate.

I realize you want to catch 'em on the fly straight to the MPC, but the downloaders are a nice complement to have. What ends up happening is you press download on anything dope you find. Then maybe once a week go check your folder of downloads and it's like "whoa...50 joints to chop, dope. )

I sort of use Spotify as well, I would need something practical, did some search on google and found Soundflower, and all I can say that it sucks, recorded the sample I wanted and I get the sample PLUS sum sort of hiss noise

1. download soundflower
2. open soundflower and check built in output
3. go to apple system preferences and set your sound output
to soundflower
4. now go to your mpc preferences and set your input to soundflower

Now you are good. go to youtube and sample away

Hope this resamlping feature will be sorted in future update so it can be used without 3rd applications

Soundflower is the way to go for sampling from the internet. It is not an issue that needs to be sorted out. The Ren has hardware Inputs like every MPC used for sampling.

Now...I primarily run my Ren using my Apollo interface for several advantages. One of these advantages is the ability to route outputs to inputs. So I can easily sample from You Tube or any other application into the MPC software.

if it wasnt for soundflower ren would be incapable of sampling its audio outputs within software...guess you not familiar with this feature being part of music softwares these days

the fact that you'd have to physically create a sound loop feed by connecting ren's sound cards outputs or using another interface for its outputs to ren its inputs in order to accomplish this is hilarious

i been sampling in live using any brand of interface without need of 3rd party apps, using two sound interfaces for yrs now...whoopty doo major discovery soundflower

The suggested method for Ren users that sample from the internet is to use the free Sound Flower app....disregarding the fact that a lot of internet audio/sampling sources can be downloaded, and loaded within the MPC software. You can also use the same method of sampling as a hardware MPC.

MPC Ren users and MPC Studio users that use more capable audio interfaces with the MPC software can resample directly from the internet. There are plenty of these reasonably priced and highend audio interfaces that have the functionality without the need to use multiple interfaces. I wrote an example above with me using my Apollo interface.

Music software having this capability built-in is no more or less relevant than any other feature they may have that the Ren doesn't. Likewise, the same music apps don't have a dedicated controller that can access its functions on the level of the Ren/Studio. There are a host of MPC features that the Ren/Studio have that are not possible in other music apps.

As of 1.3.1, these are among the best options for actual Ren/Studio users.

Damn, from using MPC1000 with JJOS2XL to MPC Studio, the switch aint that easy for me, from having a certain workflow and then switch to another is something that will take time to get used to.
Downloaded Audio Hijack, it solves most of my problems, Downloaded Soundflower and I get crackling noises when sampling, well, thanks all for the help!

If you know what is causing the crackling noise while using soundflower and sampling, please adress the issue here

MPC Studio doesn't have an audio interface. So if you are having crackling issues it could be several things unrelated to your MPC.

Post your system specs, audio interface, etc and I can look into your issue.

hey gizlee, i was a mpc 1000 user as well, hows going from the 1000 to the studio? i was thinking of buying the studio but didnt know how the transition would be? any thoughts?

i had some of those the black discs with the grooves on.i didn't know how to get the sound off them, but they burn really well on a fire though, i'll have to make a video and put it on youtube people might want to sample the crackling of the flames
