Been telling folks for over a year that Akai weren't playing. And that was just the tip of the iceberg. What is about to come will silence plenty of critics (that don't own nor have ever used the Ren/Studio). :nod: :shock:

Getting ahead of yourself this is only 4 updates in..while ren is on the right track don't get too big headed too quick cuz it's this very forum and its members who actually use their gear to make music who contributed to where its at today. It obviously wasn't much of a hot product when it dropped no matter how much you flopped your gums that it was. You bragged hard prior to release which was obvious fail. While you paddled bugs to akai from people who use ren to make music Your personal beta testing period didn't turn out too hot. Don't be getting too cocky cuz it could end bad for you n you should know this from your past experiences. Don't be too quick to forget how cold and lonely it was for jahrome without a forum to show boat at. :wink: :lol:

Here we go with the "bait and hype" nondisclosure routine. You were doing so well there Jah - for a while anyway.

Akai just released some of the details of 1.4. Since they revealed these tidbits...I'm simply telling actual and potential Ren users to brace themselves. Akai has been releasing the updates steadily every 2-3 months....and the Ren continues to evolve. You would be hype to if you seen 1.4 and got a glimspe of what else is coming. :nod:

I've been hammering the 1.4 beta, putting approximately 40 hours a week in on it. Been focusing on workflow aspects mostly, so been giving Akai feedback on this where possible.

Beyond the headline 64 bit aspect, I'd say it's definitely got some welcome additions. In the video below, Dan mentions being able to cursor around in Program Edit and change parameters with the data wheel - this may sound fairly minor, but it does actually improve workflow tremendously.

You guys are definitely going to like 1.4, but I don't want to over-hype it, let's just see how it turns out - when its released, we can discuss all the new features in detail.
