Ok,

So my MPC 3000 came in today and I'm testing it out and the analog sampling jacks do not work. Tried the digital in and it works like a champ. So I opened up the 3000 hoping it would be something simple like a loose cable or a bad solder joint.... No such luck. All looks well in the unit. I even unhooked every cable and socket and reseated them. No help. Any ideas???

Thanks in advance

Yes. I have done all the normal trouble shooting. I also own a 60 with 3.10 so I'm pretty familiar with the OS. I'm thinking its a grounding issue..

Im thinking I'd get onto the seller immediately, unless you knew the machine had issues. Notify the seller right away, give yourself some leverage while you look into the source of the problem.

Try using the LOW, MID, HIGH input gain selector too, and several sources if possible.

I knew it had the issue going in. I will have the unit fixed. No big deal. Just was hoping it would be a easy fix. The 3000 I purchased has scsi, 32mb ram looks brand new and has the VGA out option and it works.... All other asspects of the machine are nearly perfect. AND I picked it up for $500..... so I cannot complain........

Hope your issue gets resolved somehow, fingers crossed.

Thanks!!
Been swapping gear like a fiend trying to get the setup how I wanted it. I traded a cat an Ensoniq ASR-X Pro and a TC Electronics M One XL for the 4000.... Had both peices in the closet for years and threw them on Craigslist and he made the offer... Best deal yet v

I actually scored the 3000 off of Music Go Rounds website....... Not to many people check them out but they have good deals every once in a while.

Maybe check to see if the cable from the AD/DA PCB (where you plug in the analogue inputs) to the Record Level pot/connector on the Volume PCB is properly connected.

If not, then maybe time for some circuit level diagnosis with the service manual and multimeter/etc.

That's a score of the year contender if ever there was one. Good idea for a thread!

Yeah, I took loose all cables and even the e-proms and reseated them all.... I am thinking of sending the unit to Forat unless someone has a better service person in the Houston area.....

It gets better. The 2000xl I sold, to get the 3000, I picked up at a pawn shop for $150. The kid at the shop said it was broken... It was not. Was a 2000xl Studio Plus maxed out. Sold it to a cat for $500 and directly put the funds in the bank and ordered the 3000. So I really got the 3000 for $150... FTW!!!
