after rechop a small box appears and then asks, rechop by # of regions/equally/transients with the respective options. Then one says do it than the result is showing applied to only the previously selected region. The result is mapped to the pads just like now. That would be a killer feature.
when I get time over the weekend I will put some thought into how it could work and post back.
If memory serves me right, the 5000 does re-chop the way you describe. Some food for thought.
I had the 5000 and sold it since it wouldn't clock to my Pro Tools properly (now using 4000 and 3000 side by side...) but just imagine this:
RE-CHOP for the MPC SOFTWARE 1.5 ! (Courtesy of JAH)
1. Open MPC software with MPC Ren/Studio connected via USB
2. Load 'Sample.wav'
3. Enter Sample Edit Chop Mode
4. Chop 'Sample.wav' via 16 Regions; slices are automapped to Pad Bank A
5. Strike Pad A05 to select Region 5
6. Press F3 [Rechop]
7. F3 opens 'Rechop' menu with options to rechop Region 5 via Threshold, Regions, BPM with applicable params plus F4 [Cancel] and F5 [Do It]
8. F4 [Cancel] cancels operation
9. F5 [Do It] rechops Region 5 and maps the new slices to the pads between the previous Region 4 and Region 6.
