CHOPPING ON THE MPC 2000

CHOPPING ON THE MPC 2000

STILL HAVING TROUBLE CHOPPING IN THE 2000 NOT THE XL, HAVE READ SOME INFO HERE ON THE FORUMS BUT JUST HAVENT GOT THE HANG OF IT. DONT KNOW WHERE TO GO N THE ZONE FIELD TO CHANGE # OF ZONES. ANY HELP IS APPRECIATED... PEACE

Damn, so what do you do? Just make multiple copies of the same samlpe and chop each one into a different part of the same sample?

yes it does have zone

man go into TRIM mode. use the jog wheel to select which sound you want to edit. One of the F buttons up top will be the ZONE button. Click the button for ZnEdit or something. It wont say ZONE it'll be abbreviated. cursor over to St: and that will be your start point. The other will be your end point. select your start and end points.

im not in front of my mpc so the directions might be a bit crazy. but please believe there is zone on the 2000 because i've used it plenty of times!!!

you got it.



i think the 2000 and the xl use the term "zone" differently. In the 2000, its like the highlighted area of the sample, on the xl, i believe it chops up drumtracks for you.

i think the 2000 and the xl use the term "zone" differently. In the 2000, its like the highlighted area of the sample, on the xl, i believe it chops up drumtracks for you.

yeah on the xl, you set how many zones you want, hit ok and it splits the sample into that number of zones (all same length). then ya just select what zone you want to edit using the jog wheel, and then you can mess with the start and end points of that zone.
