mv 8000/8800

I meant checking prices on ebay, the £400 is for a 8000.

Is there much difference between the 8000 and 88000.

As I understand it differences in how you handle effects, the screen and what else?

I don't mind using a green screen since I be using computers all day

theres not much difference at all, zero crossing when choppin samples is one that i can remember.
there was also something about having to make your own bass sample on the 8000 while the 8800 came with a bass patch? maybe someone else could clarify more for you.

i think if the screen is plugged in, they both function the same.

8800 has a laptop hard drive (2.5") and the 8000 had a 3.5"

I think maybe the cpu might be slightly different.. though that is just a suspicion.

no floppy drive on the 8800, not sure if the motherboard comes with a port for it... but even so, I doubt the software would accept one.

I think the bass thing is a tone generator type of thing that goes through a particular effects patch... I believe you can load up that data for that from an 8800 on the 8000 and that adds the feature... but on a fresh boot you can't make it from scratch. I never tried that so I dont exactly know. I never saw the point.

black side panels instead of silver/grey.. top plate is slightly a different colour

480 = 1⁄4 notes
320 = 1⁄4(3) notes
240 = 1/8 notes
160 = 1/8(3) notes
120 = 1/16 notes
80 = 1/16(3) notes
60 = 1/32 notes

There's a lot of difference between the 8000 and the 8800... cosmetic-wise. For instance, if you had each one in each hand, you'll notice the 8000 is heavier. The 8800 has maybe 4 more buttons, like Pattern and Song mode are dedicated buttons now. I must say, the 8000 is a much good looking MV than the 8800. Its like a shiny grey brick, while the flat black on the 8800 looks bland, like the sides and screen.

Pretty much updates 3.54 for the 8000, and 1.01 for the 8800 make them identical underneath the hood.

Yeah, almost all their samplers have more or less the same features. But what do you plan to do with the MV? MV is not just a sampler its a DAW and a synth too. Many were overwhelmed by its numerous features, some were forced out production while others became drooling vegatables watching reruns of MASH on netflix. The MV will **** you up! But once you master it, it'll be all you need. Its the iron monkey fist style of beat machines.

It be nice to a complete all in one box, was hoping for the 606 but thats out of the window and the 555 was a scammer pulling a fast one.

I don't think Roland samplers are that difficult to learn to be honest from the what I played with the 404sx,606 and 505 they share similar workflows but they're lacking in particular features unless you buy one or the other . 8000 seems to be the perfect drum, sampler and synth all in one.

You know, thats the same reason why I bought an MV. I had so much fun with the SPs and especially the MS-1 but felt things were missing from one machine to another. The MV seem like the king-sized machine I need. It does what the SPs do and beyond. I never looked back.

No no. Relax and take a deep breath. The seller gypt you, not ebay. Ebay will cover that for you by next week. Just take photos of your MV and make a claim with ebay. Tell them the seller falsely advertised the product and you seek a refund. Believe, ebay is all about the buyer. Don't worry, better things come for those that wait in patience.
