1.2 update

the latest iMPC update is major! finally some mute groups, the ability to re-edit your samples, number value tuning/volume and sample copy. this is everything i asked for on an update. haven't had a chance to mess with it yet, but this makes it a lot easier, especially for sample based producers. good work Retronyms/Akai!

Looks good. I'm on iPad 2 running iOS 5. Any issues for anyone?

I agree! I had just about given up on an update.The sample editing enhancements were really needed.Audiobus would have been nice, but this will do for now. Audio copy/paste works great for copying samples/patterns between apps.

I'm sure Audiobus will be in the next update.

iMPC is now fun and effective for portable beat making.It will only get better.

Agreed. I was really getting worried when that last update stank! But this is a great start. I just hope they keep it going. I really do enjoy making music with iMPC and tabletop and I pretty much abandoned it for the last couple months. Now we need panning per pad and revised file management and we will really be in business. I haven't used it with the update yet. Anyone have any issues? Also does it work the same when being used with tabletop?

I haven't had time to mess with it yet. Can anyone tell me if when you duplicate the sample to another pad does it make a whole other extra sample taking up more space or are you just using the same sample twice. Just wondering if anyone has already checked. It would be better if its the latter. Thanks fam

Yeah it's copy paste,

Also, the mute group will fail if you get crazy overdubbing

mute group stops working with any overdubs at all. Oh we'll, not trying to knock it, its a nice improvement, I like having that test pad while scrolling through start/end points. And the iTunes importing goes a lot quicker than on beatmaker 2

Fraid so. The copied samples will automatically trim off before start and after end point though, so it's not like a total waste of space. Non destructive chopping would've been nice, Maybe in the future they'll throw in the old 16 levels ---> start point trick.

Well I guess it's better than nothing at this point...

Now that's what I'm talking about. Now I can really chop and get down to business.

I was playing around with iMPC last night and did some experimenting with a jailbreak/Cydia app. called Backgrounder. It works great with iMPC! I was able to create a pattern in iMPC and have it playing in the background while I launced a synth. app. (Magellan). I then recorded some riffs in Magellan and copied them to the clipboard. Now I can paste them in a multitrack app. such as Auria, Garageband,Beatmaker,etc. as well as the iMPC pattern!

Not a bad work around until Audiobus is finally added to iMPC:)

Just tried the iMPC a little on one of my friends iPad´s, is there no Song mode? Cant you finish a whole beat or do you have to do that with Tabletop?

Yes, you need to use iMPC within Tabletop or copy and paste patterns to another app. such as Garageband, Beatmaker2, Cubasis, Auria,etc.
