Feel me i rather hear about how the time stretch Works in ren but anyway

It is related to the topic. There are many things that are not possible in the Ren and hardware MPCs alike. No one should get irate when a suggestion is made to achieve a desired functionality...using a function that the Ren is capable of performing...

Currently, the Ren timestretches pretty much the same way MPCs have since the late 90s. While Akai licensed Izotope Radius for this editing process....it is still an offline process.

REN CAPABLE? There's no Auto Bpm in the Ren one of the Reason's i don't like how you have to time stretch with it.Did you see him having to calculate bpm etc to get the BPM
NO Just drop sample in the program and it Automatically sync's to tempo It's Sad in 2013 WE can't do what motu mach 3 does as far as realtime time stretching Plain and Simple everybody cant afford 400$ just for one feature sheesh bad enuff i have the Ren/studio 2000$ on that alone

Investing in music production hardware and software can be quite expensive.

for 1.5 i want:

1. audio tracks for instant looping with overdub. similar to how midi plays back instantly.

2. each track should have a timing control 'setting' so you can see what has been applied to those midi notes... also you can copy timing settings and paste onto other tracks.

2. the ability to simply turn timing control on/off from the main window. so maybe a double tap on the t.c greys it out and another double tap turns it back on.

for workflow and live performance these would both be incredibly useful.

(Re-Jacking the thread for a second...)

@Jah

This hullaballoo, is a feature Request, not a method for you to defend how legacy MPCs worked and how the Ren works. This is an IDEA. Something Akai, (and you) can use as ammunition against the naysayers to break the Ren out into its OWN LANE and make it into something better than anything available.

Right now honestly, the Ren is par for the course. As someone with a 4k, and makes music with it, I found holes in the system that need to be plugged. But since hardware has its own limitations (no support, OS/CPU limits) all these suggestions are moot.

But the Ren software is in a sense, "modular". And is a new ground for Akai that might actually break them back into the front-runner position.

DON'T SLEEP!!!

I know there is a lot of people who want to see the Ren fail. I don't! There are a bunch of guys around who don't want to see it fail either, and they have GREAT IDEAS. Ideas so good that you actually USED THEM! I just want it to intrigue me enough to spend my money on. Right now it does not... I will be happy to spend my money on this feature. Now, it comes down to WHO is going to give this ground-breaking feature...

Yes, I know this feature that you speak of and know it exists because my little SP-505 could do it.

Yeah, like a Key-Lock feature where the pitch stays the same as you stretch out the sequence by turning up the BPMs.

The Ren needs to detect BPMs before it can see that feature... or maybe both at the same time :D

Actually, It's the EXACT OPPOSITE! But vise-versa is cool too! :smoker:

Loop:

auto-bpm
sync/follow tempo
real-time timestretching
pitch independent of the time

Inside the MPC Renaissance Sample Edit menu.

ASAP Please.

or pay ROLAND (like Apple pays Samsung Galaxy for iPhone processors) for that "Variphrase" sign that never made it to the MV8800(but shows up on a Varios rack mountable unit 7 years ago as the video showed you).

These are obvious games these companys play for years to get every cent out of us rather than mate the two popular products they already own to save us money(but this is workflow that is important here).

 cut it out lil boy...cut that bs mall cop stuff out.

Akai made the PUSH and didnt get the Auto bpm-ing, real-time timstretching and thats been the MAIN feature for years in ABLETON LIVE.

1.puttin batteries in the mpc500 but not the mpc1000
2.making the mpc4000 pad editor on pc but waiting 10 years to finish it(RENAISSANCE)
3.planting Jarome in our community
4.Alesis Andromeda, Fusion and now INTRODUCING!!!!.......... MPC5000 built in synthesizer?
:hmmm:

oh yeah they just updated my iMPC.....yaeeee still no audiobus! :WTF: but just like the REN, gangsta! what a mind f*** :?

timestretch is a must

and so is:

RE-CHOP for the MPC SOFTWARE 1.5 ! (Courtesy of JAH)

1. Open MPC software with MPC Ren/Studio connected via USB

2. Load 'Sample.wav'

3. Enter Sample Edit Chop Mode

4. Chop 'Sample.wav' via 16 Regions; slices are automapped to Pad Bank A

5. Strike Pad A05 to select Region 5

6. Press F3 [Rechop]

7. F3 opens 'Rechop' menu with options to rechop Region 5 via Threshold, Regions, BPM with applicable params plus F4 [Cancel] and F5 [Do It]

8. F4 [Cancel] cancels operation

9. F5 [Do It] rechops Region 5 and maps the new slices to the pads between the previous Region 4 and Region 6.

Real time stretching in this day is standard, but maybe in akais eyes there was other higher priority requests before it. Maybe it'll make it in the next updates as it'd laughable matter that 2012 mpc utilizes 20yr old legacy mpc time stretching technique as if it was desirable like the "mpc 3000 circuitry" or maybe akai wants you to use elastic audio in pro tools that you got with your mpc ren

Why do some of ya feel like you need to convince jah about a certain feature in order to see it in update :hmmm:

TRUTH!!!

I don't feel like I have to convince anyone... but AKAI!!! Jah, nobody gives a **** about him or what he thinks!!! (I kid, I kid...jfwy)

But like it or not he is one of the few that have a "close" connection with Akai as far as throwing the Dev team a bone as far as what US in the forum want to see in the Ren/Studio/etc.

I can definitely go without the eternal grandstanding and Akai circlejerking but deep down I honestly believe he actually means well. So I chose to include him in the discussion for some feedback.

BTW...Thank you for moving this topic to the correct place. It may develop some traction here.

copy mixer settings,per seq.

kinda like coping the midi data form one seq. to the next.
The way the Track mixer is set up if you change a volume, efx, vst, or pan on one seq. the next other seq. need the same fine tuning and so on on. depending on seq. count for an individuals track this can be a lengthy process.

anyhow, this is something i spend way to much time on with the mic software.

thx

yeah this would be nice to have n save alot of time when i got the studio i thought it was strange that each sequence has its own mixer but it was my first mpc so must be a traditional way of working
