Sequencing the Roland Fantom X7 with the Akai MPC 60 II?

Hello.

I have an Akai MPC 60 II and a Roland Fantom X7 Keyboard...
Question is: How do I record keyboard sections that I play, directly into the MPC 60 II, so that when I press the start button on the MPC, the sequence plays back with the drums and the keyboard parts as one sequence?
For example, let's say I've already done my drums and I have the sequence playing. How can I record what I play from the keyboard into that sequence?
As far as connections, I know it's MIDI IN/MIDI OUT... But beyond that, I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong or what I haven't done right!

Please, any step by step explanation appreciated.
