Cheers, so adding a 512mb isn't like a pc where it increases performance?.

Also I'm chopping via using the clipboard method, copy pad to pad via clipboard and ten adjusting start and end points instead of chopping and add points.

Just wondered, this is similar to how I chopped on the 606 but is this the best method?.

Ok pretty much got to grips with the mv, only issue is I'm getting my head around is quantise.

However, loving this machine, its like the perfect sp and mpc combo. The only thing I like to ask is there a free mv patch creator?.

peep on page 10, debauch posted a .pdf that converts the mv numbers to mpc quantize.

also, i think there are 2 different ways to quantize on the mv, it doesnt really work like it does on the mpc form what i gather. but i havent used it myself, so maybe someone that has one can break it down better.

Cheers, got through the pdfs and have a fair handle on the mv now.

The only thing I wish they included was a patch creator on the pc so I can translate some of my kontakt samples to the mv.

Also can anyone tell me as I haven't got a bass to try this on, but can you plug it directly into the mv and how is the guitar amp modelling for it?.

I think chicken systems had one.. but I read something about people being upset with those guys claiming they didn't deliver... on the other hand some people say they are amazing.. I have no idea on those details. It might be something to look into.

yes you plug it directly in... it works.. the fx in the mv are okay.. you'd need to try it and decide yourself cause that can be subjective and situational.

Cheers, if anyone has the time to help and answer some questions.

1. I chopped the sample up and assigned to a patch, however, I always have to goto quick edit and set the release and mute group to 1 for each pad in the patch. Is there a quicker way of setting all of them in one go?.

2.Fade outs, none as I'm aware but is there the only option to play with the adsr as I can chop the samples well, but sometimes I get clicks at the end. This doesn't happen with my MPC so not sure why its prevalent on the MV.

3.Lastly with audio phrases still trying to grasp my head round them but how do I change the bpm of the audio phrase as it normally predicts the bpm incorrect and sounds garbage when I timestretch them.

Cheers

OK can anyone clarify this but you can't overdub audio on an audio track on a mv?

Yeah that messed me up too. No, the only way to overdub with audio phrases is to record them as a resample. However, you can only overdub with MIDI and Instrument samples. With MIDI tracks, the MV will behave more like an MPC.

Keep in mind when Resample Recording, to click the Normalize box before recording so your sound will maintain that perfect volume. If you don't, you'll notice a slight decrease in volume.

You can correct portions of the audio track using punch in and punch out, so basically just record over that particular portion.

Just messing around today, I reinstalled a Maxtor 300GB/7200RPM 3.5" HDD in my MV-8000.
I finally got it to show 265GB of Free space on it instead of "max" 127GB when using a larger capacity HD.
