a few years back, when i moved from LA to NYC, i shipped my records, can't remember which company. one of the major players.
anyway...they told me i had to weight the boxes myself and that they didn't check them. so i thought, what the hell and put the weight ridiculously low. i shipped about 10 boxes for next to nothing.

i moved them fine throughout the trip. i dropped them off at the apartment and i was staying in a hotel room when i got a call from the landlord saying the an AC pipe burst and my apartment and the ones below were flooding. everything was pretty much swamped. at least they didn't warp! :WTF:

Good thread....I've been thinking about going back to Jerry's Record in Pittsburgh since I moved back south and wondered how I could get em back safely.

I used to work up the street from that shop, hands down the biggest collection I've ever seen.

Jerry is the man too, I've asked for a record and he was able to tell me exactly where it was in the store with far over 1m records in it, crazy shit.

It's rare for me to go home from there without a stack.
