How do you not get frustrated?

If you have a sound in mind the 4k is almost the perfect instrument to achieve that sound. There's so many tools to develop your sound on the 4k and the sonic results are immaculate.

If you don't have a music theory to sampling or percussion what good is the 4k or any MPC for that matter? The MPC is as dope as the end user. It's pretty much a freestyle instrument, a music extension of the end user.

Or they took it back as it constantly crashed the first 2 operating systems. And it just wasn't intuitive to use right out the box like the MPCs that came before it.

Didn't get the 4k til several years after its release so I don't know about the crashing. It is a different work flow from the previous releases, but once you understand how it works and where to go it's a piece of cake. In terms of professional sound quality, work flow, and functionality it's 's the best MPC to me, and the ADAT expansion board makes tracking into a DAW seamless. The 4k's the truth.

If you need inspiration go to a jazz night, or a live music set, or play some of your favorite music vinyl (if you know what that is) or what ever and let the ideas flow.

MPCs have known to achieve legendary status years after they have been discontinued. $3000 for the basic model.....and up to $4000 for a maxed out model....the 4000 wasn't a popular MPC when released. The MPC 4000 Forum pretty much looked like the MPC 5000 forum.....a lot of complaints about Akai not releasing another update.

I wonder why a lot cats don't got that musical vibe playing inside themselves. Boggles me why they even picked up a sampler in the first place too. Music is always playing in my head, I feel like a human radio. In a quiet room of people, I'm the only one jammin'.

The OS can use at least one more update, but it's dope as is.

I think the 5k may be more appreciated in a few a years or so. Although that thing should have been released with a word clock.

While I truly enjoy working on the Ren, there are still quite a few features I would like to see added....audio tracks, sampling/sample editing, and would love to see greater intergration of hardware MIDI modules. I would love to browse my hardware synth patches directly from the Ren by Patch names....or being able to have layouts for hardware like we know have for plugins....

I always adopt early. Whether I buy it now or later....pretty much still spending money. But when manufacturers listen to feedback, its fun to help shape development.
