He makes Techno! Listen to Rabbit in the Moon or Orbital (if you know who they are) ,they make better music than lil Jon. And, the way he act's makeswish the brother wasn't black, He's a Sambo for real!

I consider Producers like Timbaland, Neptunes, Jazza pha to be more Pop Producers than anything. Doesn't mean are bad it's just they are Hip-Pop!!
I call the Rza( who (Really doesn't Sample Much),Large Pro and your Pete Rocks more Hip Hop Prod. I like that Style !

Hold the **** up man! Are you consider hip hop or not by the music you make or the life you live. I read many articals and heard interviews where Pharell will recite any classic hip hop song on the spot. I may love to listen to Bigg daddy kane myself to this day but my music may not show that. Are you telling me im not hip hop cause my style of music is more accepted now than the style you love. Look at it this way cause you now sound fukkking stupid. When hip hop first started traditional music people said it wasnt music and it would come and go. We as true hip hop artist and producers said it was music and as time when along it was proven that hip hop was music and wasnt gona come n go. So for you PHILLY STRESS to say what is hip hop or not cause of the way it sounds now compare to what was before aint no different than when people said hip hop overall wasnt music. How would you feel if people was making hip hop on Keyboards first and then sampling took off and people said that sampling wasnt really hip hop cause you cant play the keys. Im **** tired o you fake azz save hip hop. If hip hop would just stay sounding like it was back in the era it was you love, something would took its spot by now. The same way hip hop has tooking rock n roll spot. All they use is the same old guitar and do a good job but over all the sound is real old. Hip hop has the option to have multi faces and multi type of sounds and formats. You need to be happy of that fact nucca!

Boogie Man wrote:and to answer your original question regarding "Boom Bap" producers.....thats an old and dated style thats why.......and no people don't hate it.....it's just tired and overdone....I've been listening to Hiphop since the mid 80s at least, and if the sound then would be the sound of now, Hiphop would have been a fad....but music evolves.....styles change.....just because you want to be stuck in an era that was VERY FRESH, doesn't mean that others can't move on to appreciate the new styles.....Just think if people didn't evolve the sound...we'd still be hearing beats with a basic drum machine......and NO samples....Kurtis Blow was the first to use a sampler in his music because his dj couln't keep the break on time...that is evolving......chopping is a form of the music evolving from just looping...incorporating actual instruments is evolving, etc etc.......

Just Blaze and Rj D2 (Who so many of you love) all make Boom Bap

Madlib and Alchemist are 2 West Coast headz both make Boom Bap

It's outdated??? Do Listen to Hip Hop??

My man I obsess Keyboard (Korg Monopoly Seq Circuits Pro one I love them both!) I orginal point is Hip Hop was started Dj who cut and moved on to sampling NOT Keyboardist. So you move any from sampling Cool, but Don't
me I'm holding on to Tradition yes I sample Extensively But that hip hop's
started and still is for me,Period.Check the top 20 Albums and 95% of them are Sample heavy. The others either replay old music (if realize it or not) or don't belong there. (in the top 20.) You don't have agree but's that's the way it is. Bump or Dump it!

Where do you think the sounds of those records the djs were sampling from??? Keyboard and piano players......guitarists and flutists.....drummers and vocalists........etc, etc...I've been listening to Hiphop probably as long as you've been alive.....Yes Boom Bap imo is outdated....NOBODY is bringing anything new or evolving the sound of Hiphop just by doing Boom Bap....and that is a part of what Hiphop is about...evolution, just like everything else, or maybe you think we should stil be doing 808 records with the ca, ca, ca cla, ca, clap,...bu, bum, bump, , clap, ca, ca clap, bump, bump.......I can guarantee you if I go to a Hiphop function tonight, I will still hear some of the records I heard being spun 5 years ago......Not to say that I don't enjoy that scene because trust me, I've had my days....but....after awhile, schit gets stagnant.....I'm not saying it's wack, mind you, I'm saying it just gets old after 2,709,567 listens of the same style......It's about variety.....there is NOTHING wrong with that....and just because you ain't feeling it doesn't mean it's wack....

by the way....Madlib makes keyboard beats too.....The proof is in an Elemental mag from a few years back.....

a big misconception about Hiphop is that Hiphop was born along with sampling...Sampling came along AFTER Hiphop was already being established......

YO Stress i have no problem and Boogie good points! I just feel you judge people too much by one thing they do. You say hip hop is this and that and a person aint hip hop if they aint making this type of music. You keep tring to put down others who COMPOSE to prove your point. To tell ya the truth alot of sample base producers would love to be able to play the keys, its just that they dont have the time to become good at it so they never do. Keyboards of today are so much better than in the past. In the past you might of need a whole band to pull of what you can do today because of poly issues. I sample to but its just that now when i play records the vibe i catch make me wanna try and recreate the record myself instead of sampling it. Sometimes i can hit it on the nail and other times i cant and i still will have something. Tell me the truth Stress has it ever killed you hear a sample and want to use it but there is something going on over the sample that pervents you. Some people use session players to recreate it. I dont have that type of budget so i am my own session player!

I think the whole thing is just a misunderstanding.I Boom Bap is just an outdated term that's all we have different definitions. I use keys to so it's cool!

hiphop is hiphop no matter how it was made, some people feel limited when they sample like they can't express the music they have in thier heads. And alot of people that sample just want insperation I sample and do keyboard beats, but sometimes I fell limited when I sample but I still do it anyways because it's fun and I plan to be a half keyboard half sample producer.
