can you recordtrack mutes in song mode?

Not sure if this can be done but when I'm playing back a beat in song mode and I'm in the "track mute" page is there anyway to record those changes I am doing live into the song?

for the most part, the answer is no... you need to record the track mute into the individual sequence while in record mode... and then play that back from the song screen... i use the 1000 and 2500 and you can't edit/record anything on the sequences while in song mode.

Sorry I should have added that, I'm using the MPC1000 with JJOS 1 or 2.

Someone should program that into the OS...

Was trying to figure this out just last night. Noticed the track mutes on/off showed up in step edit, but didn't actually occur if I just played the sequence from MAIN. Never thought to try in song mode. Thanks.

if the track mutes aren't playing in the MAIN screen, then i'll assume that they aren't gonna play when in SONG mode either... SONG mode is simply a string of sequences being played in an assigned order... perhaps you turned EVENTS OFF in the track mute screen? that would cancel the mutes you recorded.

On an MPC with 8 outputs you can do your track mutes on the mixing board or DAW. But yeah, song mode isnt the most flexible for those type of things.

Maybe turning your song into a sequence will give you what you need (track mutes) although I haven't specifically done this myself.

Just make the song, then convert it to a new sequence. How hard is that to figure out??
