Yes, I figured that you might be testing the Local Control On/Off settings with it still connected to the MPC by MIDI, that is why I asked.

Just wanted to make sure that Local Control On/Off was working correctly.

When Local Control is On, and it is connected to the MPC via MIDI in/out, and an MPC track is set to send MIDI to the M3, you would be triggering the sound twice.

The M3 keyboard would send a MIDI note directly/internally to the M3 sound engine, and it would also send a MIDI note into the MPC, which would send it back to the M3 sound engine, so you would be triggering the sound twice on each keypress.

That is why you should turn local control off when connected by both MIDI in and out to the MPC.

Why don't you connect the M3 audio outputs to the mixer as well, and listen to it through the mixer, like you are with the MPC?

I am a little confused, I didn't think you could monitor the MPC audio inputs when not in the MPC sample record screen, so am not sure why you would be getting M3 audio coming out of the MPC audio outputs and into your mixer.

That is confirmation that the connection from the MPC MIDI Output to the M3 MIDI input is setup right, and working, if you play MPC pads and sounds come out of the M3.

The M3 sounds sound kinda low on the MPC
M3 audio never runs through the MPC. Try the mpc full level button.

& YES, I have the volume turned all the way up...lol
Mpc volume knob has nothing to so with M3 audio volume.

How are you listening to the output of the MPC, and the M3, are they both going into a mixer, or are you somehow listening to the output of the M3 through the MPC?
Simon, what chief should have for an audio route is moc out to mixer via rca cables and M3 out to mixer via rca cables.

Your terminology and wording here is jacked up.
Midi is not audio. It can sound low on mpc because once again M3 audio never touches the mpc.

[color=gold]When a midi kybd is connected to an mpc the sensitivity of a pad hit is much more expressive, hit the pad harder and/or use the mpc full level button.

Also, mpc2kxl sample inputs are ONLY active when sampling, impossible for it to act like an active line in summed to main output, it just isn't designed for that.

mpc main out -> mixer
m3 main out -> mixer

mpc midi out -> m3 midi in (this is so mpc can trigger m3)
mpc midi in -> m3 midi out (this is so mpc can record m3 note events)

INST/MIDI tracks on mpc is for recording m3 midi performance.
DRUM tracks on mpc is for mpc internal sounds, you should already now this by now..
