Mac or PC zip disk transfer to 3000

Hey all. First off, thanks for all the info here. I hope to contribute myself when I can. I was lucky to find answers about the 3000 vga port and now I have a 15" screen thanks to you guys. Greatly appreciated. My summer is looking reeaaal good right now.

Anyways, I have a zip 100 scsi drive for the 3k and a zip 100 USB that i can use with either a new mac, an old mac running OS 9.2, and/or a PC running XP. What is the best way to get WAVs from the computer converted to SND files and onto a zip disk for loading into the 3000 rather than sampling everything one piece at a time?

I have MPC187 that I use to get PGMs and WAVs onto my 1000 and would like to do the same with the 3k.

That's wicked, thanks. It says it doesn't read Pro Tools WAVs but I can work around that.

And does anyone know the Mac equivalent of this in case I decide to use a different computer?

Cool, thanks. I think I had MPC Pgm Maker on my old Mac. At the bottom of the link you sent, it says

"For MPC3000 & MPC2000(NON-XL) Users
RS-16X creates both 2000 & 3000 format ".pgm" file, but you still need a way to transfer it from Mac to MPC. It seems some non-xl & 3000 user are having trouble transferring them. Unfortunately, I don't have much information about this problem at this moment. So, if creating .pgm files is the main reason to use this program, please test the program with your systems carefully before you actually register with RS-16X."


Are there any special ways to get the USB Zip 100 to play nice with either the old mac or the new?

You should be able to access the first MPC3000 partition on the Macs.

Have not tested exactly what the 3.50 hybrid partition does on the various computer operating systems.

OS X has a built in Zip driver, so should just work.

OS9 probably needs a Zip driver, download the driver, or Iomega Tools, for OS9.

I think it is a good idea to use a separate computer-MPC transfer disk.

Pro Tools wavs can be loaded into a diffent audio editing program, if it's wavs are compatible with the MPC, and resaved, as a workaround.
