Mpc Froze on me!

i have no idea what the problem is. This morning i turned on my Mpc and the Main Screen showed up but none of the Pads/Buttons were working. About a minute later, a whole bunch of weird numbers started popping up and i wasn't able to do anything. i tried turning off the mpc for a few seconds and turn it back on to see if it works, and the same thing keeps happening....can anyone help..this shit is really frustrating....

Re-Install the OS.

thanx lampdog. i know this is a newbie question lol but will a MPC 2000 OS disk work with the 2000xl?...because the idiot on ebay who sold it to me gave me a 2000 OS

and if it does work with the xl, how would i reinstall if its frozen?

doing that will freeze your machine.
