:lol: i guess i should mention i got the 18i6 also about six months ago and totally agree with niN. Great preamps for such a cheap box... Perfect for a little project studio or something

Haven't tried those plugs , lamp, imma see if i got em around here somewhere!

I owned a scarlette 18i6 before and i definitely recommend it. The mic preamps and line preamps is really great for that price. The only bad thing is that theres no switch for on/off

I will totally let all of you know what I am gonna buy! I hope I get the money for the presonus one back soon, I think I will get the Focusrite 8i6 then, because in Germany it's like 235€ and the 6i6 is 245€. I mean I get two more inputs with the 8i6 that seems to be a good deal. Anyway one stupid question at last:

On the Focusrite Website it says this Interface has 8 inputs? But actually there are only the 2 on the front, the 2 on the back, MIDI In and this weird thing called SPDIF (I googled that one...).

Damn I am **** stoked that so many people on here posted in this thread, really nice! I will keep you updated and do my homework with Stereo/Mono sound!

SPDIF is not weird, it's just that you don't know about it, lol.
SPDIF is 2 channel digital. Same "physical" connector as rca plugs but
different specs and that's where the similarities end with that.So when you see SPDIF it's 2ch (L/R) in on one jack and 2ch out (L/R) in the other SPDIF jack.
SPDIF usually mirrors the main outs.

2 S/PDIF
:arrow: This equals 6 in. That's what the first 6 means in 6i6, got it?

4 Line ¼” TRS Jack on rear panel (mirrored by 2 sep headphone outs)
2 S/PDIF RCA phono

I'd advise downloading the manual of whatever interface your interested in BEFORE you purchase and read about the features of it.

You'll save yourself time and money by doing that.
KNOW what your spending your money on. Look around the internet for reviews from owners and users of the interface.

In this thread member harry.ethics shows a pic of his studio, you can SEE the focusrite sitting there in the photo, one of the ones we are talking about. PM him and ask some questions about it, he's a good dude.
