Mpc 500 tips , Tricks , Helpful answers needed!!!

I got just the mpc 500 three weeks ago & read the whole MANUAL ... I'm new to this & I still don't fully understand the mpc 500 . I need tips , tricks & helpful answers

I'm looking into just switching to a mpc 2500 for a bigger screen :angry: :oops:

Very confused!

You won't fully understand anything in three weeks, but you may begin to get a grasp of the basics. Tips and tricks won't help you if you don't understand the basics, and helpful answers won't help if you don't ask a specific question first.

A MPC500 is a standalone hardware sampler/sequencer.

A MPK25 is a USB/MIDI keyboard controller.

As someone who did exactly this ^^^ you will definitely be better off and find it very easy to follow. It won't teach you any manners though, I suggest an Amazon search for that :wink:

jacob dont go in on any of the vet's on this forum, trust me, they are here to help

the 500 IS complicated at first use.. a 1000 would almost be a better mpc to sink your teeth into imo, the 500 some have said seems designed for people who already know how to use the mpc. do you know what i mean?

its like this though : im assuming you want to make beats, sample based, boom bap instrumentals............

mode button. then record button.
mode button. then trim button (to fux with the sample you recorded)
mode button. load button. load up some drums (most likely a CF card with wav files)

fukk around with the tempo button to put to your desire tempo. go to the timing correct button to help you out with quantizing drums and samples.

hit record and play at the same time and hit some pads. (lots more technical steps i left out, but that is the just of the 500.)

It would be helpful to know specifically what you want to do with the 500 . Make drum beats? Sequence external gear?
