Synth With MPC 2000

I currently have an MPC 2000 and am pretty new to hardware, but I've been looking into getting a synth as of late, I'm a little confused as to how this integrates into the MPC tho. One of my main focuses with the synth would be warm chord tones and baselines, so I'd like to be able to still use the MPC filter under Parameters. Is there anyway to do this without literally sampling the synth I'm using or am I limited to a MIDI hook up with the synth sounds that come stock?

I hope I explained my issue clearly enough, let me know if there's any confusion!

Not sure which synth you have designs on, but any decent synth will have filters of its own along with other synthesis tools. In most cases the filters on a synth will be more useful than those in the MPC, you could even run your MPC audio through the synths filters if it has an audio input. Analogue filters? Now we're talking serious filtering...

That was the reason behind the MFC42, an analogue filter unit for the MPC2000/XL.
