mid sequence tempo changes...

I am in the middle of putting together a sequence with a lot of tempo changes on my mpc 3000.I need around 100 different tempo changes, but in the tempo sync/tempo changes page on the mpc, it only lets you adjust up to 98 on the "change" feature .Is this a limitation of the mpc, or is there a way of getting more out of it?

Wow! ok first off Im sincerely interested in why you say you need so many tempo changes if you care to share! The most I ever use tempo changes is maybe to get ritardando effects, but there is clearly a greater potential for what the MPC can do with tempo.


in answer to your question, if the 3000's tempo change works anything like the 2000, it should be variable as a %. If the % value has 1 decimal place, then you can easily change to any tempo at any point when the master BPM is 100.0BPM. example:
100.0BPM(MASTER) w/ a tempo change 120.0%= 120.0BPM
100.0BPM(MASTER) w/ a tempo change 96.7%= 96.7BPM

You need around 100 tempo changes.

The MPC allows 98 tempo changes.

To me, 98 is 'around 100'.

I just got what we're talking about, you meant the total number of individual tempo events you are allowed to insert. Wouldn't that be limited per sequence? You might getaway with breaking your stuff up into smaller sequences
