face plate black out kit from mpc stuff

Hey fellas,

had to do some repairs on the 4k - replace the pad sensor and some buttons - while looking at mpc stuff I decided to grab the fat pads and black out kit - the kit has just arrived and I'm looking at the black face plate kit kind of feeling like I might be making a mistake here...quality of the sticker is not what I'd hoped for - basically it looks a bit pants. Might just be better keeping it OG - but was kind of feeling like a change.

Anyone done this black out and how are you feeling about it? now that you've got used to it?

ALL I CAN SAY IS....DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES GO THERE.....skin dosen't fit well at all - In the end I am installing the fat pads and replacing some buttons but not using the face skin - really crappy

Hey how do i add a picture??? Have made some cosmetic mods - looks pretty cool.

So yeah there it is

Major improvements in the feel of the machine - replacing most of the buttons with the black ones (just leaving the yellow and purple).

Replaced the Q link knobs with some from Mpc stuff -these don't feel as good as the OG but look better IMO. I don't use these that often so not a problem.

The master volume and record I replaced with some knobs I had from an old mixer - quite happy about these.

Used only the top of the face skin along the top - When I had the whole sticker on there as I said earlier it looked shit. Also used the sticker to go around the LCD screen and cover up the purple.

Very happy about replacing the pad sensor - plays heaps better.

I foolishly accidentally ordered 1K fat pads instead of 4K - so this change never happened. But happy enough with the new sensor improvement anyhow.

Put a new silver jog wheel cover in - I also ordered the silver Qlink sliders too - but these were also pretty horrible so I left the OG sliders on there. I wouldn't recommend those sliders unless you have actually lost yours and really need a replacement.
