You wont know if its a 'Turbo' until you turn it on, so someone could get lucky. From the outside they all look the same.

Can confirm that it was a Turbo and when I found out I snapped it up with in the blink of an eye.  8)

A non-Turbo version just sold for £600 on eBay, and the last Turbo version I saw on the bay went for £600 too.

That's the one I bought. How much did you get it for?

Got it for £400 and £3.20 postage.

The one you got looked nice though, yours also came with quite a few leads and a working Commodore floppy drive I believe. I kept trying to bid him down but he wouldn't move from £600.

The leads have come in useful but I gave the drive away. It took a marathon session to get the worthwhile sounds off the floppies it came with and backed up in the 4K. Those old style floppies are way too slow.

Other than that, I can't wait to dig back in with it and see what I can do. I've been majorly sidetracked of late.

£400 is a good price. 8)

if enough of us have the SP12 Turbo here, it may be worth it if we all started saving & swapping samples in the cassette-out format [saved as MP3s]... might be fun & make the non-SP12-owners feel left out.

isn't it possible to buy the turbo upgrade kit for like 100-200 bucks and make a non turbo into a turbo?

i believe forat is the last person still selling the chips though... he charges $160. not bad if you get a regular SP12 for dirt cheap.

Good score! How did you find out about the turbo status?

Those idiots at Cash Generator really don't do their homework when it comes to valuations. Less than a year ago while i was absent from the forums, I picked up the silver MPC2000XL SE-3 from there for £99.00 gave it some TLC and sold it for £400.

i'm gonna assume he noticed because if it has the upgrade it says so on the screen as soon as you turn it on.

I simply emailed them and asked haha. Then I phoned them this morning to see if it was still available, I even tried to get it for a lower price but they were having none of it. I'm happy with the deal, been looking for one for a while!

Lol they certainly don't do enough research! £99! I bet you couldn't believe your eyes
