I've been using reasons and mpcs for years. now that ive purchased the new mpc studio i thought it would make my workflow quicker, but i keep hitting a wall, ive intergrated reasons into my setup thru virtual midi or rewire xt and can only get one channel, i tried to midi it but again can only get one channel...is there a way to seperate the channels or is this something i have to deal with? plz help

check out this vst called energy-XT, there is youtube videos on how to use it. It's a rewire vst, so it will let you record the reason instrument through the plug in and into the mpc studio.
It's kind of a pain in the ass if you ask me but it seems to be the best option as far as I've seen.

Submitting a request for Akai to license Propellerhead's ReWire technology is about all you can do. It's in all the major DAW's but Maschine for example doesn't have it so it might not be high on Akai's list.

People still calling the software Reasons, after all these years.

Propellerhead Reason. Or should that be Propellerheads Reason...

Sorry, carry on.

It can't be Propellerheads/Propellerhead's plural or possessive because of the music group The Propellerheads and legal concerns.

The phantom "s" added to make "Reasons" has no tangible explanation in the now 12+ years people have used the inexplicable plural name. :hmmm:

Maybe when the MPC become 64 Bit you can slave Reason and maybe record inside of Reason. Thats the only way Reason will slave from Logic as if its 64 Bit. I can't use the Ren as a VST inside of Logic and try to Rewire Reason becuase Reason wont recognize Logic because we have to turn the 32 Bit option on. All this is crazy. You should be able to use Reason as a sound module inside of the Ren. Reason is just so behind as a DAW or i would use the MPC Ren inside of Reason.

Someone needs to come out with a Rewire for this. I would pay for this if it was possible.

Rewire is something Akai would have pay a licensing fee to Propellerheads to implement. So it's a monetary issue and of course if they wanted to could they implement it without diverting their team from other things.

Also what you're saying is not true anymore. Reason/Rewire can run in 32 or 64 bit, App Alias/Get Info/Toggle 32/64 bit in a tick box.

Can be found under Renaissance's sub folder /support
I got it working as a sound module. But no MMC.

Sorry for necro but I did not see any other posts on this topic... I too have gotten Reason to work with my MPC Studio via the AKAI Internal MIDI App but I am having a drawback.. I cannot get the notes to sync when I'm playing them. The transport syncs up fine. The latency with the notes is ridiculously off and weird. Has anyone else experienced this issue?

So what is the latest on this? I would like to purchase the ren and use it with Reason 7 as my sound module. I have an iMac running mavericks and just want to figure out the best way to get it set up. Thanks in advance.
