I'm taking leave from work for the next couple of months so with my free time I'm going to input all my records into my Discogs profile.

It'll be cool to see how many I actually have. I estimated about 3000 records but we'll see. Plus it's a hell of a lot easier to search for the record by record# than typing in Artist and song name. It's also interesting to see how much some of the records are going for $$$.

The most costly record I found so far is my Klein & MBO "The Most Dirty Talk"... $38

Nice,

I was adding my small collection recently and I couldn't find a record I had on Discogs, so I googled it and found out that the artist is currently in jail for distributing child porn...messed up shit. Apparently on the FBI's top 10 most wanted for some time.

Eric Rosser "Making a Night of It"

The copy I have is signed by him to a guy named "Don"

The record is only ok, but the story makes it much better.

Sorry to highjack your thread.

I love Sharon Redd (RIP).

Didn't discover her music until a decade after her passing.

I love when that happens, but I also hate it. Grabbed a couple of CD remasters as I'm not a vinyl head.

Man Clint... I've been listening to Sharon Redd since the 80's. I didn't know she had passed since you stated it.
Back in the 80's we would mix her songs in with the early Chicago House records and I still do it to this day.

Adding these records to Discogs is a pain when I find minimal info about a record. I feel it is my duty as a record collector to update the Discogs info and to add a picture of the cover and actual record label. It takes time but it is worth it to help out other diggers.

just started adding them today, 5 hours later and 280 entries I had to hang it up... but I'm restless as hell might get through a bit more before the night ends. Better to start now while I only have 2000-2500... also thinking about it, for insurance purposes its genius

edit: hope tutor doesn't mind, I created a group for mpc forum members on discogs http://www.discogs.com/groups/5938

damn dude... you got '94 pressing of illmatic

eh better check that cat number.......its on columbia, its the single LP version, but whether its OG or RE im not too sure......

i can be lazy with details on discogs, i do most of my adding at work, not in front of my collection, so it can be guesswork at times :)
