Should've stopped by the forums first and gone to the MPC comparison tab first before buying, personally I would never suggest anyone buying a 500. I know a couple dudes that use it, but only when they're touring for a quick flip. I don't think it should be a STAPLE in your studio though... but yes... you made the right choice buying the 2500.

If you toss it into your PC with just a CF reader it will all be out of order, I don't know the solution for that problem.

Yeah that's really the only explanation for what happened.

Hey at least you bought a fantastic machine in the 2500. And if you kept the 500 it will probably get easier to use after using the 2500. You'll probably have an easier time imagining the data that isn't on the smaller LCD from seeing it over and over on the larger LCD.

I love the 500.Cant imagine life without it.My music is greatly improved.

As far as saving,PAY ATTENTION

Name everything
After the initial save press SEQUENCE THEN RE ENTER SAVE MODE

Use data wheel to locate your folder or file then SAVE AGAIN.

Fool proof

yes ok what about if i loaded samples on to pads that are part of the SEQUENCE you see first when i work on a beat i load a drum program then i load extra samples like bass and a string sound on to empty pads then i make a beat then if i want to save it all the samples and SEQUENCE to load the next day its confusing i just wounder if the 2500 i got coming is better at saving then the 500 also you say Name every thing on the 500 i did name the SEQUENCE what else do i name  the samples i load have a name :hmmm:

Depends if you take the time to read the manual and test/practice/learn before you run buying another model.

I have read the REN is pretty good at saving

No, just kidding, DON'T get the REN.

But DO get JJosXL with your 2500.
