I fitted my acard today but something isn't quite right, so just trying to troubleshoot.Using Villaxi 3.5,my settings on the acard are are scsi 0, terminator enable and terminator on. I have a Lexar 80x 1gb card inside the reader. My first step is trying to format the card. The screen says scsi disk unit 0 will now be formatted.I opted for partition mode 1 but then I get an error saying hard disk format failure, please check the hard disk is turned on and properly connected.Does this mean the card is the problem?I guess my connections are correct because it is seeing the reader on scsi 0.

Have you tried any different CF cards?

SCSI ID 0 should be OK.

Not related to your problem, but...

You do not normally need to enable termination power on the Acard, you only need to turn the termination on, the termination power should be provided by the MPC ( as long as the MPC termination power fuse is not blown).

No I don't have any other cards at the moment to try.Would you say the problem is with the card rather than the acard and delock, as the Mpc is recognising them on scsi 0? I will also try with the termination off...thanks

Success! Got it working now with a different flash card.It is a Boss 128mb card from an old digital recorder. Now to buy some 1gb cards and do some tests.Anyone had any success with 2mb cards?

Thanks! Yup, got it today. I've tried with a IDE-CF reader, but no dice with the MPC 60-II; it hangs looking for devices at boot. Will search for another card, and try turning off term power.

OK, it works with my MPC60 II - thanks. I haven't taken pictures yet, but it's essentially the same setup as seen here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/74079779@N ... 822493307/. The card reader is the same model - an ACS, which seems not to support hot swap (although now this is up and running, I'll try to get hold of one of the readers recommended earlier which do).

After the lack of success, I put the card and reader in an old PC with a 2940U SCSI card to validate it. The card was hanging until I put the latest Adaptec firmware on it (2.20), at which point it saw the reader and I put firmware 3.89 on the adapter.

The caveats are:

- The MPC will only see up to 780MB of the card, and it divides it up into 30MB volumes
- I seemed to need to pick the exact SCSI ID; auto didn't work me.

I'll know early next week whats going on with mine - sorry for delay, Jhulk was out of town, and I was waiting for parts/adapters for the thingy thats going to speak to the chip. Am really hoping they can just be repaired, then I can help anyone else that has problems with theirs get theirs repaired too.

@SEED78 great idea to learn everything about the card and be able to source parts for repair. Keep us posted. I set some cards aside for you already.

Also, I am selling what's left of my stock per my previous post.
