Come on man, you can't be serious.
I notice that you been a member on MPC Forum for awhile, why would you come across my youtube page and call me a biiitch? Is that what they teach you on mpc forum? If you didn't like the Dilla/Pete Rock videos, just say so. Don't go cursing me out. That is why I blocked you from my youtube page.

Your suggestion sparked me to do a ATCQ beat kit. So thanks to you, it was a success.

I have to agree. If the purpose is to show new beat makers the ropes so to speak, wouldn't it be better to point them to Junior Mance and chop those drums?

Sampling hits off already produced hip hop records to me is like having somebody chew my food for me...

Nothing personal reggiereg1, I just don't see why you'd spend the same amount of time chopping mastered hip hop records rather than just sampling drums like the people who made those hip hop records.

A well dug/sourced drum archive should have thousands of hits and there are literally millions of drums sounds out there so I don't see how anyone would ever need to jack producer's hits right off their records.

If you are strictly a beatmaker then I see your point. I specialize in doing remixes, reworks and mash ups. Many people on here make a beat and post to soundcloud. I do the beat, the vocal, and the video. It's all about fun for me. Sorry

I see your point but some people learn different ways. I learned drum programming by listening to records over and over. I also sample drums from breaks and other sources like everyone else. I've been a part of hip hop since the 80's so doing different things keep it fun for me.

One sampled clap in a produced song is not a 1:1 comparison to what is a mashup (a solid one for sure) that happened to have chopped up Tribe drum jacks in an MPC. I figure if it was posted as audio and labelled a mashup/remix people wouldn't have any issue.

But it's presented all centered around this kit that was made in a way that 99% of heads would not utilize. So you gotta expect the " :hmmm: ".

In the Billy Squire example, I'm not even taking it that far...if I want to use Big Beat drums (doubtful in '13 but for example's sake) I would use the Billy Squire record. I wouldn't go cut up "Live at the Funhouse".

:hmmm: are you **** simple dude?

Your title says 'beat kit' not ATCQ remix. In which case you didn't do shit but chop some drum hits and make a kit - no beatmaking there.

i dont claim to speak for the whole forum but judging by this thread we share a similar opinion on your 'kits' :mrgreen:

For the record i think i said f*ck you amd didnt call you a b*tch but lets not take the focus away from your awesome kit :roll:
