Program as in all the pad assignments and playback settings, (NOT talking about recycle or anything). With certain rackmount samplers I can be editing samples and instantly hear what it sounds like in the program. Mpc2k as a sampler can not do this. Are any of the MPCs capable of this?

I have been missing out, I didn't even know! I guess it would have been easier to list which MPCs CAN'T do this. Did any of the OS updates on 3000/60 include this?

I mean you can edit and retrigger the sample while in the pgm and trim screens but I don't think your talking about retriggering.

Example, a long sample, no, your edits won't be heard/applied while it plays out. Only when you retrigger will you hear the edits.

Is that what you mean?

Lamp, I think he means editing the sample while the sequence/program is playing so you can hear the changes immediately in the context of the current program/multi...

MPC60 = Not with any OS you can buy. However Mansell-Labs Vimana OS is rumoured to have this feature implimented. The OS was never made available to the general public, beta-testers only.

MPC3000 = Yes, only with Mansell-Labs Vailixi 3.50. Samples can be edited and/or processed in real-time while the sequencer is Playing or Recording.

MPC4000 = Yes. IIRC.

exactly, I didn't have a good way of describing it, but it makes it a lot easier to turn newly recorded samples into useable programs IMO

Thanks for all the info everyone!
