no doubt man

i pretty much only use all the breaks vinyl volume 1 and 2 for drums

and whatever i find thru random records

but most of the time its the all the breaks

anyway, i'm interested in the sp12 turbo myself

can you discuss it a little further since i've never used one?

is it really hard to work with?
complicated in adjusting filters?
sequencing?
sampling at 45?


i use an asr-10 now with my mpc but for the next album i'm gonna change up the sound to sp12 midi'd up to the mpc

There is no filter adjustment, different set filter frequencies depending on which ouput channel it is set to...

Note: Each output Is filtered differently. Channels 1 and 2 have dynamic filters whose bandwidth varies in time, channels 3 and 14 are muted by a constant amount, channels 5 and 6 are somewhat less muted, and channels 7 and 8 are unfiltered. Knowing this can be handy when assigning sampled sounds, as different sampled sounds may respond better to particular amounts of filtering. To hear the filter effects, select a drum sound and assign it to each channel in succession, carefully noting the difference in sound between the different channel assignments

word, the sp is a little different. I don't want to say "HARD". Its fun to learn, that coupled with the manual and you wont have problem. Certainly if you have used the mpc. I know that after a few hours I was starting to hit key commands "almost mechanically". I can do the MP with my eyes closed, but the sp is just a different interface.

Pick one up, for the first few hours, you will just sample in and be amazed at the way it sounds. I didn't make shit the first 24 hours, just sat infront of it with my jaw on the floor.

Anything specifically you would like to know?

Sequencing is easy enough, havent gotten my prefered workflow down yet, it is quite a bit different than the mp.

i wanna get the sp12 just cuz it looks cooler and seems more fun to use

plus the sound is of it's own original vibe

if i ever find one i'll be gettin it

but i'd like to know how you feel about the emax sound in comparison to the sp12 since you have them both right there next to each other to compare

samples, drums

strictly the sound

does emax really sound just like the sp12 or is that a stretch of a truth?

Thank you very much. I am moving overseas in a few years, idk what the price of them over there is, but Im glad I got one in the states, at this great of a deal. What should i do about power over there?

Does your SP12 have a voltage selector on the back panel next to the power switch?

Mine does, my SP1200 does too.

Depending where you move to, you can purchase a step down transformer to plug your 120VAC gear into. Get one with a higher wattage rating for rest of your gear that is not dual/multi voltage.
