I refuse to read the whole thread, but some hip-hop producers do sometimes grab drums from each others tracks. Some will admit to it and others won't. A nice kick is a nice kick, a cracking snare is a cracking snare. So-called 'producer kits' have been floating around since the Internet made it easy.
I don't see what the argument here is, sampling from another song, is what made hip-hop, so its only natural that hip-hop songs also become sampling fodder themselves. What goes around, comes around. Its the same as people digging in the crates lugging home a stack of wax, now you have cats instantly e-digging other peoples digs, for free. Moves with the times, or live in the past.
Just make some music and take your samples from wherever, that's hip-hop...

Hip hop is built on sampling so it should cool to just sample already finished hip hop to skip some steps? (the best steps)
Emphatically no, and 9,999 out of 10,000 heads agree as the history of the game shows. I don't recall straight biting ever being in fashion.

I think, in all seriousness, the reason why we get upset (we=people that dig for numerous hours, waiting 6mos.-yr finding that ONE record with the 4 sec. drum break to sample) is because, we put in man hours for our sound. I find it down right cheating and a mockery of the entire culture. Sure, sampling is sampling, weither you do it with a break from an obscure record or a ATCQ drum break. The difference being at least it's somewhat respectful to breath life into a dead/unsuccessful artists music that had NO relationship to hip hop originally then sampling a SUCCESSFUL, very relevant, originator, founder, pioneer etc...etc... of hip hop. I thought hip hop was about being original? and not biting... like biting was punishable
if your remixing good on you, do your thing dude... the people thats downloading your kits are obviously quite new to making beats... or else they would just find the song themselves and chop it up... right?
keep on doing your thing though, if its working for you right on... another word to the wise... why call out someone who's obviously a regular on the forums? way to cannabis yourself dunny.

This video isnt actually as bad as the previous ones still tho its lazy and like others have said including both posts by sean why not use the original sources and make a video as testimony to the craft that went into the atcq originals like the marley marl jawn

Tbh ive got some producer packs but as far as im aware their inspired by the producer in question a la the ones that mpcsamples have that list artists the sounds are similar too and i layer, filter and eq them not just straight replay em...like i told you before reg i like your remix sh*t and i mustve subbed your channel for a good reason but what your doing with these kits is not cool

I was in the 7th grade, when Sugar Hill - Rapper Delight hit the air wave for the first time. The R&B group called Chic try to sue Sugar Hill for using there song Good Times. Soul Sonic Force used Kraftwerk music in Planet Rock. These are just a few tracks that help start hiphop. This thing goes back to the beginning of hiphop.
I don't know reggiereg1, but I seen a couple of his videos on youtube. Even though he used the forum to called another member out. I didn't pay any of that any mind and enjoy the video he post. It was a change of pace from the usual post here.
As I read on. I was expecting to read a few positive replies from some members here, but instead I read post of the beat police cutting the guy down to his ankles. When the forum, youtube and many websites talks about crate digging, chopping samples and useing loops.
I tried to mind my own business and stay out conversation here. But, I couldn't understand what the differnce from what he's done and many others has also done.
Little did I know there was set of codes or rules about making beats. What to do or not to do book, that failed to reach many hands. Even the guys that made hits don't have this book or perhaps they can't read or refuse to obey the law.
Me, myself and I being ignorant, spoke out of terms and is now being stoned as a troll, like jah.
I wants to redeem myself. Please send me this book. I'm willing to pay. So I can learn the righteous way and once again be among my good beat making brothers.

These kids don't know shit about Hip Hop. They hear it on the radio in their plushed rooms and then take a walk to Starbucks for a latte to find inspiration from a jelly swirl donut. Thats hiphop today. These kids don't take pride in craftmanship, spending weeks diggin', hoppin' trains to save that little bit of dough on some hot record, battle MCs and on time to a beat (not this pussy written speeches today).
