Export stems / per track or even per pad...

Not sure how many people would find this usefull, i defenitely would, after messing around with jj sequencer for fun, i thought imagine how incredibly usefull it would be to add a stem export function .... Not for that fact you would make the beat in jjsequencer, but if you made your beats on jjos 1000 or 2500, then when you wanted to stem out each track or pad even per seq or song, you open it in jjsequencer and use the added export stem function... Even if it wasn't in jjsequencer (support ended) just some new batch export/bounce exe that read jjos projects/songs .. I only found one thread that metioned stem export...

I use reaper with my mpcs, but sometimes i like just making the whole beat in the mpc without reaper, then i have to stem out..Mess around with sync, make sure i solo the right tracks.. and i what each drum on seprate tracks.. usually each track would have the whole drum kit on it.. i dont have my drum sounds on seprate tracks.. Process wise i find that if i make the beats first then mix later i can finish the song quicker... Has this been asked before?

man you are doing it the hard way.

Just use the TAKE function in JJOSXL song mode.
Do it for every track and you have all the stems you want. You solo the track and do a take, then you have stem to drag off CF card or hard drive.

Also another function you have to learn is pad to track. Make your drum track and then use this function to copy every separate pad to a separate track in one go.

Not understanding this? You mean in main screen after converting song to sequence? by internal sampling to a audio track?

Well learn something new every day!!! ^This is extremely dope....

Still, A laborious effort .. Bouncing/taking each track/ even if each pad is converted/moved to a track .. I'd atlest use 16 pads for drums, then another maybe 16 for perc sfx... then maybe 3 or 4 sample layers/tracks.. ... a 3minute song to stem out would take about 1hr...

OK, the TAKE function is in song mode.

It should not take you that long, but it will take time. Try it first then tell me how long it took.
Also Pad to track moves all pads to different tracks - AT ONCE. So no need to do this 16 times for 16 pads, just once and it is done.

I guess you mean after you press mixdown feature it names it as a take in song mode by default... Thats all i can find and i already knew about that..
pad to track feature is not the pain even if doing it manually instead of the multi function... bouncing/mixing down/taking = internal resample
is the pain when you have to start each track again..

So i made a little bounce stem template in reaper..

There's a midi track in reaper which sends a note on value(midi note 31 on channel 16) which inputs to midi in of mpc. I've turned on midi note to button feature.. Note 31 = f4 This happens in the end of the song/sequence length

It only works in main mode where f4 = next track and you have to have solo on

The mpc is synced(slaves to reaper) with mmc on

I've got another track in reaper that is armed to record the analog outs of the mpc.

You have to set the bar length and tempo in reaper to match the bar length and tempo in mpc and make sure that loop/cycle is on in reaper and off in the mpc.

press record in reaper making sure that in the mpc your first track is selected and it will automatically loop through your sequence . Once it gets to the end, the midi track in reaper sends the note 31 to mpc which presses f4 and it changes to the next track in reaper. Because its synced and looping it will go back to the start of the sequence in the next track..

the good thing about both these systems is that you can have control functions assigned/learned to midi notes and cc .. So in mpc i've set a end track.(a blank last track in the sequence that outputs a midi not into reaper which has the assigned action of "stop")

At the end you;ll have in reaper one stereo clip that has multiple takes.(equalling the amount of tracks in mpc) You just explode takes to new tracks ..

It's not as fast as offline stemming, but it beats hanging around and starting each new track to record out, or taking each track manually.. Once it's setup you just press record and walk away.. come back and it's all done.. Except for the explode function...

Creative method. As Bliprock and someone in that other thread suggested, it's pretty easy to do something similar with the Song Mixdown function. You can quickly copy sequences and solo the appropriate tracks within each copy. Then in Song mode, place the soloed seqs in order. Mixdown to a take and you'll have a long file with all of your tracks recorded. It's quick and can be done in a single take.
