Problems with 2500 Record In

For a while now I have noticed that when recording in stereo I am getting way higher levels coming in from the left. I have everything set up to be balanced, but this still occurs. When taking the MPC out of the equation, I also have no problems.

I have made it through by rocking out the mono record or simply boosting the right from the mixer into the MPC, but I noticed something strange recently. As I was toggling the REC Gain on the MPC, the input levels would even out. I then, against better judgement, just applied pressure to the REC Gain knob and it evened out the inputs completely. This only lasts as long as pressure is applied.

I am fine with the methods of working around this, I actually enjoy the mono method more anyway, but I was wondering if anyone has dealt with a similar problem. I am just hoping my mpc isn't busted in some way. I am guessing something has to be wrong though.
