Whats good yall. Im thinking about purchasing a REN and the UA apollo. I've gotten rave reviews about the great A/D, D/A converters thats on the apollo, plus the small lantency issues it has. But what ive noticed on the back of the Apollo is theres no midi conection(lets say for my akia max 49, or for the mpc). So my question is since there's no connection for midi with the interface, would i be connecting my keyboard thru the REN to control VI's i have on the computer? It might be a silly question because i dont own the REN yet, but i just wanna make sure i try to get a lil info before i cop them. Thanks!

I have been using the Apollo and the Ren for about 1 yr now. I love the combination. I would frst suggest to get the Thunderbolt card for the Apollo. I get much better performance than using the Firewire ports.

To answer your question specifically.....you can connect a Max 49 (or any USB controller) directly to the Ren's USB ports or your computer's USB ports. You can also connect your controller to the Ren via MIDI IN/OUT ports.

I agree I have the Apollo with thunderbolt card makes its a Lil more stable with the ren using it as an output device.
