mpk25 PAD buttons doesnt works ?!

Hi everybody. I hope somebody can help me . Maybe im missing something ?? ....

I have a problem with mpk25 PAD buttoms. Nothing happens when i click any PAD button. I can´t see nothing in the LCD screen. Usually when you press "edit" button and click on a PAD you should see information in the LCD , right ? . But i can´t see nothing. I have used ableton, FL and logic and nothing happens. Keyboard works perfectly but no PAD activation. What im doing wrong ? thanks a lot. PLease help ! i purchased yesterday and all is perfect except these pad buttons !

Press "Edit", press a pad. The LCD should read "Set Pad "x", Note, "Press Enter".

Press "Enter", use the dial to change the MIDI Note # from 1-127. Use the < > buttons to move the edit field to change the pad's MIDI behavior between Momentary or Toggle.

For software/VST/AU's the MPK's pads MIDI # assignment will have to match the instrument, usually a map with pad 1 as MIDI Note # 36, Pad 2 as MIDI Note # 37 and so on will do the trick.

Or use the mapping functions the host program offers and save the assignments in your song file or a blank template.

Having the MPK's pad MIDI # assignments is probably the best way though, so it will work on all your songs every time.

There is also the Vyzex editor desktop app you can use to make mappings.

this is incredible. Do you know what was happening ? . OO my god . The problem was that i didnt press hard enough the **** PADS . So it seems that these PADS need to be pressed really strong to be activated. That was the problem , i pushed them very soft , that why i thought it was damaged or malfunction shiiit !! thanks for reply brother. Problem solved

Yeah man MPK/MPD pad mounting is a disaster, they truly are THAT bad.

If you don't care about warranty or don't have one/it expired, you can take the machine apart (watch for the small connector you will need to remove to separate the top and bottom and the PCB clips are rather flimsy) and you can mod them.

Resident MPC genius Nym uses a drying silicone solution and closes the pad/sensor sheet gap that way. There's stickers or tape but that is so so.

And for around $40 you can buy fatter pads that close the gap.

They are all actual MPC 2000/XL/2500/5000 pads or MPC500 pads in the case of the MPK25, they just mounted them wrong...on NINE different units over a 5 year period....

With no mod unless you have the hands of an NBA center you'll need to just engage full level at all times...which really sucks as who wants every drum at 127 velocity or wants to redo all the velocity by hand in the software?
