I asked if it could be written directly in front of the JJ HP.

Thanks le rat

Going to attempt that now.

Seems boot is shared between OS1 and OS3 now. I'd have preferred OS2XL and OS3. I'll play with it 10 minutes and see if it smells good :)

Same here on the toggle preference.

And of course a JJ OS is going to smell like a Sakura Blossom forest.

Thanks again sir.

I've installed it on 2500 and my pc has shown me "NEW DEVICE MPC 1000 MEMORY CARD" It works but it should not be like that

So quick feedback, will be short because I didn't find the old data wheel option so I gave up.

EDIT : I found the setting finally. see other post below :)

For my workflow Looper is now shift+F4 in main screen, F1 can't be customized as LOOP like in OS2XL

-Couldn't find how to edit individual events in GRID EDIT. Regarding VIEW and Velocity there's a workflow issue. If I use TAP TEMPO + data wheel, that doesn't change the velocity value quickly but that changes the position in the sequencer accordingly to TC. I got lost easily.

-The grid in main screen is reduced by half approximately

-in rec mode the VIEW button seems counterintuitive at first but once you know that it's - and + seconds range it's good. Still not sure if it's really useful to see the waveforms in REC mode though

My biggest fear was with the new slice and the waveform. Seems to be **** up.

First the SHIFT + UP/DOWN arrow for vertical zoom, it's not 1K user friendly. This point is disconcerting compared to OS2XL

Secondly showing both channels at then same time is not a good idea and it's not adapted to long or very long samples. I got a strange display sometimes (kind of "color and inversed color" issue. hard to explain)

To conclude, as usual, when a new OS is launched, lots of complaints and a lot of work to improve features. Hang on JJ :-D

hmm... gonna wait a bit before upgrading then. Couple of projects under work so wouldn't make sense to switch just yet anyway.

I've just noticed the setting is here, just at a different place. Shame on me  :-D

So just in case :

Image

Wheel field (Only MPC1000)
When the reaction of a DATA wheel is slow or cannot change the value of one step, please change the set.
Usually, MPC in which Ver2.12 or less AKAI OS was installed selects "Old type".
MPC in which Ver2.13 was installed selects "New type".
If OS is changed, this set will return to default setting "New type".

Have fun everybody

We should start a new thread really. but here is my 2c

OK le rat, I found that the stepping behaviour of the Quantize value in grid edit to be great with tap tempo button. I love it BUT you are right there is not any way to edit notes at all, besides moving time.
But again this is a problem as there is no individual note selection *(in fact no note selection at all) so you can end up moving a note on top of another and not being able to select one or other, you can only select both notes in grid edit/ We need that changed ASAP. like bring back the edit button to so I can change note, length, and velocity. That makes editing a breeze.

Also the grid edit screen is missing the Quantize swing and +/- ticks with Qlinks.
That is a very powerful feature that will be missed. For writing and live playing. That has to come back for shizzy. I mean I want that back as it is a monster function having that control.

THe main view is not halved if the track is set to midi/chord/arp ect. weird. maybe for extra functions on front screen yes?? I am not fussed bout that though it is good to have the bigger grid view I agree.
OK now SLICE > wow is al I can say. I love the way it works BUT, no over lap, so I can not make slices overlap at all? So, if it worked the same but allowed over lapping selections of slices then that would be really quick and easy. Meaning I want to have say slice one and slice two share same part of sample. Can not do that at this time as it is, but G it feels quick and easy to slice. I also like how the slices do that follow on thing and not overlap in some way so I think an option to turn on overlapping or such would be ideal, then best of both worlds and every one would be happy! right?

Oh and where is the programmable mode button to chosen screen function? So I can change to my favorite screen with one push of a button??

And in trim mode the Sample selection by program mode is a bit wonky, and wont let you stay on the samples start or end time when you change samples via pad hits. Kinda sucks as you keep changing the sample it self instead of all the start/end times of samples in a program. Kinda annoying but not high on my list of bugs/missing features like above

Chop overlap (NDC) is in program mode now.

aha thanks for that m:t:c

so scratch that then.
