Hi,
Ive been making beats for a few years now.....I used to make my beats just on a computer using Cool Edit Pro and Acid. Now I've got an MPC and I am finding it difficult making my beats sound as natural and authentic as I did with the computer.....
My drum loops are now much tighter and better all round on the MPC....but when it comes to breaks I am finding it hard to loop them up in the same flowing way I did on the computer...
For example I have taken a bass break that I used to make a beat on just the computer and tried to remake the beat with the MPC and it is fockin difficult....my beats on the MPC tend to plod on a bit and dont flow as nicely as they did before...
I am taking the break and timestretching it....then chopping it and assigning the samples to pads....but for some reason I just cant get it to sound natural on the MPC.....
I know its probably just something I will have to keep working on...but I am just wondering if anyone else has made the transition from computer to MPC and if they have any advice on this.....I am getting a bit frustrated by it because my beats have taken a large step back since getting the MPC...apart from the drums,....which are much sicker now....
Any advice or tips would be much appreciated,
