i'll get around to trying this out some time this month...

as someone that was forced to pay $123 just to use JJOS1 on my mpc2500, i look forward to giving OS3 a shot [for those that aren't aware, JJOS1 is not sold separately like with the MPC1000]... i never really got into OS-XL and always just stuck with OS1... i think now is a good time to give the new OS a chance.

when the distortion come just go to record mode and switch from analog to digital and back to analog input.

now the noise is gone from your haunted mpc...

Thanks andreat668, that's exactly what it was! I will gladly buy you a pint of beer if you're ever in Manchester ;)

Your welcome mate

I dont know about you, but me everytime i fire on the 2500 i got the noise/distortion...so remember to do the trick everytime at very low volume or your gonna fck up your speakers and your ears both.

Well, mine now does it every time I boot the machine, but only with OS3, if I switch back to OS2XL it's fine every boot. WTF?

I've had a few random reboots now too :( I have done the hold erase down all the way to the home screen when booting thing a few times too.

I just resampled some kicks within the distortion/noise and i went back to osxl...i recomend you to do the same...dont stress your unit with multiple on/off switches.

Things gonna get better with some time, its kind of comprensible within a 1.0 release.

its in program, you hit sample F! and it changes to sample 2..
assign your sample to pad 1, change it to ON
open window and change it to how many slices you want..

you can change the start and end points with the numbers or hit the pad then open trim and make sure youre oin program mode, make sure pgm s/e is highlighted and adjust your endpoints..

sounds like aot of work but after a while you get used to it..

At first I couldn't find it, but in PROGRAM screen, SAMPLE2 tab (F1), using the <BAR> buttons will allow you to change the start and end points by different increments, on down to 1 digit at a time. It makes sense, but with the small screen, without the waveform displayed, it is confusing, as there is no zoom level indicator (there's room on the top of the screen for this, fingers crossed for inclusion in the next update), just keep pressing till scrolling only changes values by single digits.

I also thought that there was no way to see the waveform while editing NDC on the PROGRAM screen, but pressing PGMMODE tab (F1) in TRIM (MODE + PAD 6) will show the waveform. Also, on this page, while start or end point is selected, pressing SHIFT + ^ or v arrow buttons will increase or decrease the wave details. I'll echo what someone mentioned previously about how in this screen, pressing the pad again after zooming in will unzoom, yes, this is annoying. I hope the behavior is improved in future updates.

Overall, so many new features, I'm excited to get proficient with this OS as well. Thanks JJ's!

I could not resist, installed back os3 and made a beat :smoker:

Still having the noise/distortion every time I fire up the 2500, saving the setup system to a file didn't help, but at the end I'm not seeing it as a bug anymore :-D

Got habit to new NDC as well, pretty cool!!!

Now what I'm really missing is the numerical key for shortcuts, hoping in a update soon for the 2500.

Thanks jj for the new (free) o.s.!

allready deinstalled OS3, just reinstalled now to check NDC.
in .PROG mode, window 1 is cool.
all the parameters i really need at first are there on one page. guess i´m not the only one ;)

just checked NDC now.
Man, for my kind of working it is just WTF.
nothing i do with my MPC will work anymore.

i need often VERY precise setting of sample start and end,
i need to have the option for one shot, Note on, but also Loop.....gonne
absolutely need QLink on ALL. need to play with Tune or Filter on ALL pads

gonna reinstall OS2XL again. was a short checkup.
i really hope that full NDC functionality will find its way back

so still in Love with my OS2XL
