Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

I have a guy selling his Blue MPC2000xl with 100mb internal zip + 8 outs + External Zip Drive. Looks clean, screen is good...

He's charging me $400 flat. Is that a good deal?

Yes. Use the money you saved and buy a CF reader, then pray to the LCD gods that the heat of the LCD portion of the machine doesn't start making it line away one line at a time, one of my XL's has 16 lines missing. (Some get $450-$500 if they luck out on a minty 8 out XL)

It's also a blue so you can date it's previous lifespan as shorter than a beige unit. Although later beiges have a slightly different hue to the paint and the LCDs are brighter, my two are not the same, and are years apart in manufacture.

Like any MPC you never know if the guy was leaving it on for days and weeks at a time, I never get why people do that, just save. But again it's a heat issue that really can't be avoided that kills Classic and XL LCD's.

BTW I should have typed later beiges have brighter LED's on the buttons, sorry about that.

Actually my last XL I got was $400 exactly 8 out's, working zip, perfect LCD. Guy had it covered with Iron Man stickers.

I peeled those off and it turned it the buttons (he even stickered those) were factory new, the whole MPC was factory new actually. I assume he spent more time with the Iron Man ish than using it.

Put in a CF and dumped the yellow pads and I couldn't be happier. I hope you get the same type of thing if you buy that blue one Maddnoiz.
