on as in object may i keep the input monitor always on even in main screen and not only in record mode?

what it does is it will allow you hearing your input signal when you record something. when on the main screen in playback, leaving the option on is not neccesary
pressing Buttons & Pads, turning Knobs, moving Faders

yes, you can have the monitor input thru on at all times... the setting is in the MIXER screen somewhere.

oops... my bad... i thought we were talking about the mpc2500 
it appears the mpc4000 doesn't have that option in the mixer screen... but there are a few work-arounds... this thread here should set you straight:
