Ok, we all know that the 5k has a bad rep, but I also know that there are some of you who actually use this machine.

Who is currently using the 5k? Maybe post up some beats you did on it. Peace! :smoker:

nothing except samples from my drum collection and samples from vynall.. all mpc5000 shaping/ arranging..

I've been using the 5k live too.. to run a hiphop live set, with streaming backing plus some live beat button mashing.. and live voks...

Its pretty solid.. Never had a hiccup...

the bottom sig beats are done with mpc1000 ...

the pump track is done with reaper and a yamaha mox6

:-D Those cz-101 are cool !!I cant remeber how i aquired the one in my possesion,(Waiting for the day when that someone goes hey dude you got my cz 101) its a really good synth to have with a mpc.. they work awsome together..

One thing i dont get about the internet is how influential it is.. Like people can believe txt on a screen that has possibly come from a credible source..And that is the end all desicion for that person..
I mean word of mouth is what its meant to be , but when it comes to gear, i dont make judgement on any gear, and dont give a fuk who's mouth or fingers the opinion comes from..Unless i touch and hear it for my self.

What i want from a mpc would be better routing/mixing features like parameter modulation,(like in reaper and a few other daws) but i just mimic what i do in reaper with the mpc by automating it manually..

Use mine almost all the time.

Only bug thats really urked me is if you scroll thru sounds in the load screen too fast and preview them fast as you go thru.. It tends to crash if you go to fast previewing, scroll to next, preview, scroll to next, etc.

It does not seem to like that. Cant recall any other frequent bugs I deal with. oh, every once in awhile when I load a previously saved project, some of my note duration times in the seq tracks are at 0 instead of their edited duration times..
Strange.

Ill post some stuff soon as well

Sometimes my 5000 talks to me.

Also sometimes when on a screen where the faders correspond to on-screen adjustable parameters, those parameters will suddenly jump to a different value without touching the fader at all. Like it just spontaneously registers for no apparent reason. Aggravating but not frequent.

Good to hear some people actually use this machine....only thing that I have found so far in a couple weeks of use:

If I have a bass sample set to "note on" and put my LP filter super low, it will click at the end. Looked it up and apparently this is a common problem? Sometimes it's noticeable, sometimes it's not (depends on what else is going on in the beat). Other than that, machine is solid for me.
