Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

I got my 1.14c os with the e-book. I don't know how MPC-TUTOR feels about posting this os on the forum. It seems to me that this is not an official os (the last offical os for 2kxl is 1.14), so I guess you won't get any support for this os by Akai. There is no guarantee that this os will enable you to connect an ide flash drive to your 2kxl afaik. The jahrome dude is in some dodgy business there it seems, I don't think AKAI will be too pleased with somebody selling copies of the 1.2 OS (if it is a legit copy).

"The jahrome dude is in some dodgy business there it seems"

I had a 'discussion' with jahrome on antoher forum. He was completely unaware that Numark owned Akai now. Seems strange that such a 'top' rated seller would not even know where he was buying his stock from.

1.14c can be found here:
http://www.mpc2000xl.com/downloads/mpc2xl114c.zip

It is untested in whether it enables ATAPI flash readers. Maybe someone else can test before me.

I might give it a test when my 2kxl is back from the repair shop (internal zipdrive got **** resulting in 0000:BFF2 error message whenever I tried to read/write to any disk in the zip drive)

thanks mpc 3000

i'll buy one and see..they're only like £5 in the uk so no big deal plus you need one for your pc anyway in this day and age

i'm gonna search ebuyer - if anyone knows a link to one on that site or any other it'd be most appreciated

It's an IDE/ATAPI CF reader. They claim IDE-only systems will recognize it as an Atapi device.

hell no it wont respond to that.. haahahha

Seems this thread is geared towards those that have a XL. For those peeps who do not like have an XL like myself. Do you all know what card reader is compatible with a MPC2K (classic non xl model) thanks guys for the help. Checked midicase didn't mention much there about options for MPC 2000's...

Okay I found this for the NON XL peeps with some research...

Im talkin about an External SCSI Card Reader.(see link above). Also the MPC2000 can have an Internal Card Reader BUT it will REQUIRE Extensive/Expensive Modification.

Nicole

WOW, THATS SOME MAD CASH TO PUT OUT FOR THAT! THERE MUST BE AN ALTERNATIVE? Maybe a hard drive would just be better...

I have a 2k classic and am wondering if the Microtech SCSI External PC Card Read-Writer, PCD-40 will work with 2k classic? Anyone know?
