Yeah a pet bug of mine:evil: has still managed to get into the latest version that came out today, but I think its cos I only reported it a few days ago.... So you know not enough time and every other bug that has been reported means they would be busy to, so I might dare and expect another update soonish. But really I can wait a little extra if they do other things to it, but i am speculating.
I reported the chord bank at zero bug and am hanging for it to work again like in Xl so I can actually play music. Cos its broken as it is now. I saw the FX screen bug to and that was fixed... nice one.

The lack of info an control in grid edit MIDI window makes baby jebus cry every time i use it.
:smoker: Step edit is gettin a workout instead.
So yeah Can we agree that the Q links need to be back in grid edit for timing?
yes/no?
THat was the bomb in that shizzzy WTF its not in there ?
I will also say in chord mode to the qlinks do nothing at all in that mode, so please re instate that to (not that many people use it though), but its on the same bent so to speak.
And Really need to see note info in grid edit midi. Big time. THey way it was, was very good. You really can write anything with it, but now its a bit stunted and you have to go to step edit to change note number, length.

Don't want to be that guy... but if you had read even a few comments up in this thread, people were describing that the waveform is displayed on the trip screen. press the Function keys pgmmode and pgm s/e. It is laggy and a little more work than previously, but it's there.

Well ok, I did actually read multiple pages of this thread but obviously didn't see/understand that detail. Sorry. But then again, if it is actually NDC, I don't understand why JJ states in the comparison chart that OS3 wouldn't have NDC.

Anyways. I will try it. The bottom line is that the usability of NDC is changed and I will have to see if I like it in this new version. As I really loved how it was before. But then again, as with any other change, it might turn out, when bugs are fixed etc, that the new version will even be better.

I tried it again to change my mind.

In the latest OS3 version in TRIM screen with the PGM mode and Pgm S/E engaged,
when I push the pad again the zoom is reset. If you add the fact that SHIFT + UP/DOWN arrow for vertical zoom is a workflow killer/slower I think it's not usable in its actual state.

Did I miss something? Perhaps I did something wrong or had the cursor at a bad place.

Otherwise I think it would be cool to have a SLICE button at F3 or F5. It would avoid an extra step by returning to program mode.

A mix of the old and new NDC would be better imo.

Agree with all points. I think i will switch back to 2xl till this is fixed if ever?

One additional point is the lag on the TEMPO slicing function throws me off big time. I wonder if that is fixable.

Can you describe the lag on the tempo screen?

hey kay,

I'm not sure if it's just me: In the trim screen where you can now find the BPM by aligning the bars to the transients if i hit a pad to play the sample, the play marker won't necessarily be aligned with what i'm hearing. Sometimes i'll confuse the Bassdrum transient with a snare if the drumming on the sample gets complicated. Anyone else getting this?

Yes getting the same thing. It was the first thing I used when OS3 became available and didn't know if I was doing something wrong.

I wonder if anyone with 128XL and the cool new screen can comment on whether they get lag as well?

Is there a way to multilayer sounds in the os3 instrument program?

In the 2xl instrument program you just selected another sound in the slot below the first one and it played both.

Very handy,
arguably necessary.

Now it just plays the first one.

I'm not even sure what the other slots do now?

I am also having trouble loading os3.

I have os2xl(latest) on a mpc 1000 an when i load it. It just loads the free jj os 3.16. Even when i hold the tap tempo button.

I have tried 4 times and have redownloaded the file with no luck it just keeps loading the free jj

Haven't had any trouble loading it.

Or loading back.

Maybe try updating the 1 and the 2xl first.

Update everything,
Install every update available,
not just the ones you think you need,
and THEN install 3.

Holidays started, finally had a chance to install JJOS3. Looks very good I must say! This is tempting enough to consider buying OSXL ;)

One tiny lil' request.. Please bring back swing-to-Qlink! That feature, combined with pad-specific note-repeat rates n holds, would be a killer combo for realtime playing!

Cheers

I sent tthe Qlink to Quantize in grid screen to em, so maybe soon. They said that they would pass it on anyways.

So it is a bit ironic i think that we are waiting for 1.4 like the Ren peeps? what is with 1.4 updates? all good i was just thinking out loud so to speak
