MPC Studio and Reaper - how do I record midi?

Hello all,

I've been looking around for an answer to this but can't find anything specific...

I'd like to be able to record midi from my MPC studio into a track on Reaper. Can anyone tell me how to do it from the perspective of the MPC? I have other midi controllers working fine with Reaper.

I have no problem using the MPC software as a plugin on a track either, or in standalone mode. I can load plugins fine into the MPC itself and all works fine - it's just getting the track in Reaper to record midi.

Oh, and if I try and export to midi file, the MID file itself is always blank when I put it into a track in the DAW.

Hope someone can shed some light on this.

Actually, after fiddling around for a while, I figured out how to do it...

For anyone else having difficulties, try selecting Record: Output (MIDI) from the button next to the Record Monitoring tab - it worked for me!

Does anyone know how to successfully midi Reaper and MPC Renaissance software together? MPC is master and reaper is slave.

Here is a video that illustrates one of many ways that you can use the Ren with Reaper, I may do a video in a couple of weeks showing a couple of different ways to do it also.

I would like to use the Ren as the master and Reaper as slave. All sequences are saved on MPC. I would like to just use reaper for sound library. any suggestions?
