Previously Scanned Plugins List for MPC software?

Hi all,

So I have installed various AU and VST plugins to try things out. I've also decided to slim my plugins list down to just the plugins I actually use. So I've uninstalled various plugins and deleted components etc to get rid of them.

The problem I'm running into is that when I do a "Re-scan all plugins" the AU plugins I've removed are still showing up. They wont load obviously because they are gone but they are still in the list. Same thing with all of the MPC VST plugins, I moved them to a temporary folder but they still show up in the list after a complete Re-scan of the plugins.

I'm assuming there is some sort of "already scanned plugin list" that the MPC software is referencing but I can't seem to find it (I'm not at home right now either).

Does anybody know what the file is that holds this information? I'd like to delete it to get a real refresh of what plugins I actually have installed instead of a list of every plugin that has ever been on my computer whether it's there or not.

Should be in the MPC.settings file, on a Mac it's in the User folder > Library > Application Support > MPC. Not sure about PC location.

Hmmm, well once I got home I looked in this location and didn't find any MPC.Settings file, back to the search

Definitely has to be there, if it isn't, the MPC creates a new one on boot up. But that file also contains your activation details. It may be hidden perhaps. I've just pasted that location, make sure you are in the User library, not the main boot disk library.

/Users/your name/Library/Application Support/MPC

Just in case they might be hidden here's the Terminal command lines.

defaults write com.apple.Finder AppleShowAllFiles YES

defaults write com.apple.Finder AppleShowAllFiles NO

It should be there.

If you are using Mountain Lion (10.8.x), your Library folder is hidden by default (this is assuming you don't know. Hope I dont offend!).

If you go to your Finder window, click on GO, and then hold down your "Option" key. Your Library Folder will appear in the list.

Once there, drill down to MPC, and your file should be there as stated "MPC.settings". You can then view the contents with TextEdit.

Thanks everybody! You were right, it was hidden. I went ahead and ran the terminal command as well because I hate hidden files, no point really in hiding files from me.
I was in the main boot disk library that was my problem
