By whose standard is it taking too long?

If its in testing stage of its development cycle, then that's where it is until release. Sure - Pete has posted little quips and images of the next app; but, it didn't mean it was ready for release. All he was doing was giving you enough to 1. Create interest for the next installment and 2. Keep the Marketing train on the tracks for all of the fringe consumers waiting to purchase.

This little vicious cycle won't change. When 1.5.x is on the horizon, we will be back here regurgitating the same dialog. It's a Catch 22 for Akai and companies alike.

Exactly....

The funny thing is....most of the folks here irate don't even own the product. That is trolling.

jah don't be an ... you know what i mean.this is a forum for people who like to discuss about mpc ren not for mpc ren owners.have a problem with that, stick to your position of making a forum about registered users only but don't say silly things about others. speaking my mind even if it's wrong doesn't make my post a troll.get serious pls.

Why on earth would someone spend all day, everyday talking about a product they hate and never used? Most of the time it is just to bait others into silly arguments. It's just the usual few that seem upset that we actually enjoy using our new software MPCs...

Produce evidence of this "irateness" other than in your own mind. You have posts in here that the posters don't need to named as it is obvious who they are and yes they don't like you and they troll the TROLL. Which to a large degree you bring on yourself. The rest of it, they can speak for themselves.

All you ever have to say to me, "You don't have one....it's impossible you could be curious or observing the product line because you would have bought already...proof of purchase or I don't think you should have any opinions, even in the most broad and general of discussions..."

Someone pointing out you can't act or converse in objective manner is not being irate at a product. You simply want most everyone to be as yippy/apologist/no-critical as yourself. You often wait to turn on new er members until they have the "audacity" to have a valid request that for whatever reason you are hell bent against, or as it often ends..."well cool if they do, but I don't want it or care, other user's workflows and possible enhancements to them be damned."

If this line is successful most of us will come across one at some point whether we own it or not, and for the 1000th time not everyone goes all in on 1.0-1.x releases and waits a bit.

So you'd be quite wrong to lump me into your "irate" observation, I simply find your lack of even an iota of objectivity intellectual anathema as many others do as well.

Call me a troll, yet you will find none, report for what? Post technical facts that are true? (usually after you've posted things that are false).

After 11+ years acting like this did it ever occur to you that you're the troll? People have seen your pointless going at me when there is zero to argue about, yet you try your damnedest to take it there. People cam look up the threads if they haven't.

Ask who's the troll in a poll if you feel like wasting time on nonsense. It will be another 25:1 type of poll I'm sure, and likely only you would cast the vote calling me a troll.

Cue the misrepresentation of others posts and the projection defense mechanism, and keep up your endless war on rational discussion.

And you'll I'm sure need Akai to help you have your dream of proof of purchase at the door, doubt a public forum like this going to concede that, certainly not to you and your general methods/personality.

One last time Jerome, many people pay attention to the entire industry. If you want to sell these thing (clearly you base that everything you do and say stems from) then you should welcome as many many into a discussion owners and non owners.

Same as the "irateness" produce evidence of "baiting". You just can't handle anyone pointing out the most obvious things about you, your posts, and their combative style for zero reason...

pm31, thank for getting it, as most here do save for one glaring exception.

Jerome you can apply a persecution complex all you like to your Ren ownership, and surely you can try to get others to feel that way, although I doubt the rationality would let that happen.

All day, everyday...?...try about 15 minutes every week at most. You literally have zero self awareness save for own ego and paranoia.

No it's just something normal people can do, formulating clear statements whose length is dictated proportionately to the nonsense they end up having to respond to with your endlessly paranoid take on things and going extremely out of your way to totally miss the point of people's posts.

After 20,000+ posts of you acting the way you do and hundred's it not thousands of people rightfully going... :hmmm: , over a decade plus I would think it might occur to you , maybe it's you dude.

you must reffering to someone else cause all my posts in this forum are propable less than my hand fingers or less than you do in a day.not a bad thing you post too much though although thats the same with people who you are reffering to.both missing the point of making music with ren or not.

also people might want akai to make better products and might wanna make sure their money is well spend.

in my case again i have said several times that i will buy a ren when some basic features (previous models had them) are available.for example i can't even imagine giving so much money for a ren and being afraid to push the undo button....

still i apriciate your oppinion on many things but try to be less offensive to others.

Metatron72 wrote:He didn't mean you cpm31 I would guess, but you spoke objectively with balance so perhaps he will lump into his "enemies" list.

@Metatron72 i care much more to which ones "friends" list my name will be lump into than to "enemies". hope i am on yours(friend list) for sure.

i do feel jah sometimes though, if jah has all mpcs and is willing to spend 1000 usd to have his mpc changed colour,as he said, it's pretty natural not to understand why people haven't bought mpc ren at least to give it a try.this isn't ironic, it's not a bad thing to have money plus when having it's defenatly easier to forget that not all people do.

unfortunately though people like me have to save for more than a year to get an mpc and defenatly sell their mpc first if they want to buy a new one, something that is defenatly not gonna happen with ren cause it's a controller and in a couple of years or when mpc ren ii comes out if its a controller too, it's gonna worth not even 1/3 of it's current price.

And to get back on topic that's one more reason that akai should have never released ren if the software was not ready.people who bought it in a first day in a year or so will have a controller worth sh@t that will have barely used it (one year and still counts) and every day that goes by without an update adds to that.

I have 5 MPC's already and more than enough hybrid and "bridged" hands on to in the box solutions type things that I simply don't need one currently.

Does this mean I want it to fail, certainly not That non owners can't have an opinion, again no. And as I mentioned I have said nothing negative in this thread regarding the product, only realistic observations about the wait for this updates and update in the software world in general.

And clearly have stated I'm rooting for the owners to have everything come together with the product and a long life for it.

Sorry if Jerome thinks I have to ignore it's existence or for whatever reason has an issue with , "good luck guys, I hope the delay is going to result in really good update."

If that's baiting, then smiling and saying good luck sincerely is baiting in Jerome's view.

cpm31 as I said you stated my same feeling far more succinctly. Those trolling Jerome in thread obvious, and read my posts it's not me. If he totally misses the point and tries to me out of context or put words in my mouth that were never said or even remotely implied, I have no choice but to point out the logical fallacies.

I've never been here to beef, my posts show this over a long period. I simply said, "Akai needs to write a custom driver for ultra low latency performance on par with top interfaces" prior to the Ren's release. That was one year ago, since that day Jerome would take issue If I said gravity exists.

Again my posts in this thread are industry observations and wishing you owners Of the Ren nothing but success and by extension wishing Akai success. It's not controversial to say that takes work on a company's part.

There is nothing more I can say. Jerome can post whatever he likes. The last post before a lock is all he cares about anyway. Although there is zero reason to lock this thread. I have already explained why his "retorts" require so much verbage, and it's all him that is rooted in.

In my own li'l cynical opinion - this just serves to show that maybe the Ren Software was not just yet ready for Prime Time. However, Akai couldn't afford to wait to get this to Market. With the promise of future updates, they put it out with the bare bones minimum that would gather enough buzz/hype to get us consumers wanting to purchase. It worked. If any of you are gamers, you have experienced this model many times.

However, I was not forced to buy the Ren; but, decided it was what I wanted to replace a more than capable Maschine. All of this is by choice/decision. I am fully committed to that decision with intent on seeing where Akai takes this. One update at a time...

In the interim, the thing still makes darn good music with 1.3.1. as witnessed by some of the members' submissions.

I hear you on this. I'm the same. I just a little disappointed with what they are doing. Im just a hobbyist and it doesn't make or break my day to not have frequent updates, but as a consumer it bothers me that my money means nothing to some of these companies. Especially a business that has been around for over 20 years. You would think they had their stuff together. Oh well.. and the wait continues. Lol.
