Peace, just wanted to say that the Ren is a beast! Been messin' with it for about a week now and everything seems pretty smooth. Only time it really crashed is when scanning vst's, but other than that no problems at all. I've been on the 2000xl since 2001 and the workflow on this joint is a huge timesaver! Maybe it's because that's all I've ever used so I've never worked with jjos or other software. Anyway, it works perfect for what I want it to do. More than I could've imagined. Anyway, with all the negative posts I see up here, I thought I'd share my positive insight (so far) I still use the undo button religiously with no problems. Can't wait for the 1.4 update so I can rock the classic attack/decay. The ADSR envelope is cool, but it doesn't give the same effect. I can still work with it, but that's probably the only thing I can say right now, which isn't a bad thing. Looking forward to learning more tricks!

The envelope types is definitely a big plus for the pending update. I am most excited about the improvements to Sample Edit Mode. Being able to load more instruments within my favorite plugin is also sweet.

Welcome to the club. I got back into it this week after returning it when it first dropped with OS 1.1. I'm glad I waited but I am even happier it is stable with my setup now. I'm sure ill find little quirks but ill endure them much better now.

Peace

I'm with you, a lot of people have negative things to say about the Ren but I am loving it! And my system has been pretty stable since the last update. I can't wait for 1.4!!!

i wanna join the club of the happy users.

I'm new, i got my Ren by May 15th. I've not experienced as many crashes as most of the people here. It's actually solid as a standalone sequencer. I've been able to compose some sweet musics and to replay them live (at home) flawlessly. I like the beats it delivers and inspiration it brings. I like how it sequences my other hardwares, and make them shine.
But really, i am still waiting for 1.4 to master my tracks within Studio one 64.

However i'm sad to see the bitchin all around the internet and this one forum. I have hope that after the imminent release, everyone will chill and be more positive. I registered to read and share about mpc ren/studio experiences after all...

I got the Ren at 1.0....realized that I really didn't need the audio, and took it back. Picked up the Studio at 1.3, and really like it. Most of the whiners and cry babies on here don't even own it. My theory is they hang out mostly to get Jah worked up, I jusr ignore them and let them and Jah work it out

It's nice to see this thread (nice one DiskoDave - stick up a youtube beat on the Ren, please  )

I lurk mainly around here and get tips and what not, just thought I'd sign up to say I also enjoy using the Ren.
Don't get me wrong, I'm also wanting akai to release 1.4 and iron out the problems but I'm pretty confident it will work out ok.

As for the baiting/trolling about bugs, updates and akai in general, I quite enjoy them
