How do you load a whole 1 hour set up on MPC 1000, with only

Hey Everyone . How do you load a whole 1 hour set up on MPC 1000, with only 128 ram?I finally have enough projects to play a party, but how do I load each project file without having to turn it off then on ,and reload a new project ? I am gonna get a mac soon and ableton.

I am more about sequences than live finger drumming ,and I see nearly all mpc 1000 sets I see are live finger drumming. Which is cool, but unless your're Araabmuzik occasionally you will be out of time. I am interested to hear how you's all go about it . Cheers !

Be as efficient with your RAM as possible.

Resample multiple layered samples turning it into one sample, turn stereo sounds into mono sounds, get rid of all the samples that are unused etc. Take the time to make a set ready to go inside your mpc.

When you'll have your mac with ableton you can make your set as long as you want to. Transfer all your sequences to ableton loops and clips and get creative.

You don't have to turn your MPC off and on - just load the new project and it auto deletes any existing project from memory.

After carrying out all the memory saving exercises Menco mentions, try to see how many projects you can 'combine' into one 128 MB 'super project' and perhaps split your set into 2 or 3 parts. Think about a way you could fill the 1 minute void while the next 'super project' loads - perhaps have a synth or cheap phrase sampler running a drone or a speech sample etc, or if you have a laptop as well, play a filler piece from that.

Lots of options, depends if you want to run the entire set from an MPC or not.

Also another way to save memory is to offload instruments to external MIDI devices.

what would they sound like in mono? only on the left or right speaker..
and how do I/what program do I use to convert my samples to mono?

just to be clear, a mono sample can play on both speakers, it's just the same thing out of both of them.

And there's no possible way for us to tell you how your samples will sound converted to mono. they're your samples

just try some stuff out, keep yourself open to any sonic changes that could optimize your memory usage
Convert to mono, chop repetitive samples and manually repeat sections, clip the tails off of long trailing samples and fill it in with sample looping, resample long samples that always play simultaneously, whatever, just some examples.

Just use the mpc. In Trim mode hit the 'edit' button (f6)
Scroll to the right until you see 'convert stereo to mono' or something. Press do it.
There's also the option to use only the left or the right side as your mono signal.
